2.1 OTA Beginning 5/11/2010

My wife's Eris is on 1.5 and we live in Indiana

I have v3 on my Eris and nada

I mentioned this here yesterday and nobody bothered to comment. My Eris restarted itself yesterday out of the blue.... I believe it received some update (although no notification) because my signal strength bug (always 2 bars) and my 50% bug seem to be gone. I have 4 bars right now on v3 and 0% without doing airplane or any other trick. Thoughts?

I don't know. Seems odd to me that you wouldn't even get a notification. I guess the only way to tell would be if you have the numbers from v3 and compare them to what you have now. Although, most people on here are under the impression that v3 is the OTA so, I'm not even sure if the numbers will be different.

To find this log, simply open up your C: drive in explorer, find your "android-SDK" folder, open the "tools" folder, and find the text file labeled "logcat_accept.txt". This is your log. Inside this file, should be the http address of where the download came from. This is what everyone is looking for.

/\ Those were the instructions given, so I'm not sure. It sounds like there should be an http web adress in there somewhere?? Sorry, I'm new at this. Trying to help best I can.

Maybe you can get the file to Caddy or someone else and they can find it. I'm sure they will know what they are looking for.

Guys... if I believe Caddyman (and I really do), 2.1 v3 and the OTA are EXACTLY the same. So if that's the case... why would we need the logcat? Would that have anything to do with root?

I may be wrong, but I think that someone did post that if the devs could get a hold of this they could possibly start working on a root for 2.1. Not sure though...
