2.1 OTA Beginning 5/11/2010

The leak is bigger because it wipes everything, and installs from scratch.
The OTA is smaller because it leaves whatever it can, and just installs and upgrades whatever is necessary.
Whichever route you choose to go, you will end up with exactly the same thing. Same improvements, and same bugs.
 
It's my first post. I've been lurking here since I got my Eris the first week it went on sale back in November.

I live in NC and was never brave enough to load the leaks.

The Mandatory update is loading on my phone now. It came in about 12:13am, is about 1/3 of the way downloaded and been going for about 8 minutes so far.

I should have been asleep two hours ago - got sort of caught up playing the Sims and lost track of time - just checked the notification bar for sh*ts and giggles on the way to bed - and VOILA!

Super excited! Probably won't get much sleep now! The last update that was OTA I got on about the third or fourth day so I'm pretty happy with the timing this time.

Droid rules! iPhone - eat my shorts!

(50 year old lady - just for demographics sake!)
 
38 Pages! Of course you know that only 5 of them are actually informative.... The rest consists of repeating banter and bored impatient people!
 
Well... it's 12:30 in the AM, no OTA for me, and I even rebooted.

But then again... if v3 leak really, truly is one-and-the-exact-same... I never EVER will be getting anything in this round. Still wondering how people with v3 are reporting they updated... if it is really the same.

Well, on that note, I'm going to put on my white tennis shoes, and keep an eye out for Hale-Bopp to swing back around and pick me up. Nite, all. :p

Still waiting on the OTA update. Of course, now that I've finally broken down and made a post about not getting it, I'll probably get it.

I find it hard to believe that there are some who still doubt it that the OTA 2.1 is in fact rolling out.

Either way, just wondering if anyone has received the update who was using the v3 leak? I probably missed someone saying they have already, but damn...this is 38 pages of posts to sift through here!

V3 here, and no, not yet. BUT, as soon as I get a notification I'll be on here looking for help to get the url needed off my Mac.
 
Once again, I will remind you all to stay on topic in this thread.

I will also add that you need to respect your fellow members. Do not attack each other. It is uncalled for and will result in an infraction.

If you have a problem with a post, report it.
 
Just got the notification 10 seconds ago. First thing I did was log onto this site to see if there was a sticky already lol :D

I just received the update (WA state, 1:30 am)!!! I am currently updating my eris .... and I did the whole dubugging process and currently the logcat_accept.txt is doing its thing. Hopefully I will have that URL you guys are all anxious about in a bit and me have myself 2.1 ;)
