Jeph, if you have a compatible hdmi cable can you please see if the hdmi output works for anything that's on the phone's screen, or if it's just for videos, photos, and slides, as the official info states? I want to use the browser, pinching, zooming and scrolling from the couch while hooked up to a 60" screen. Thanks!
 
jeph does sprint tv on it have the sprint xtra channels included or does it still look like you have to pay extra for it...there was a rumor that the 10 dollar fee included the sprint xtra channels....thanks

1) your honest all around opinion of the phone.
2)does reception seem good with this phone?
3) What exactly is the screen, glass or plastic... amoled or tft ?

Sorry, I don't have a cable.

How is the battery life so far?
So-so. I'm not on 4G so it's not draining super-fast. Looks like it might only last a day (off 4G).

Where exactly does it have the soft touch on the phone.Is it covered on the entire backplate?
Yes, the entire backplate feels like that rubbery-matted coating. It's slick.

What do you think of the video recording quality? I've seen a video of it, but wasn't that impressed. What's your opinion?
720p recording is passable. Nothing like a Flip HD or Zi8. Everything I had seen before this was more promising. The image will drag a lot, the less movement the better.

Only looked at this for a minute, but I don't think anything is included.

A thought I had today; can you use the kickstand to stand the phone up vertically as well? Looks like it could be possible.
This sort of works. It's not as sturdy as when it's in landscape so I wouldn't plan on using it a lot.

1. It's impressive. I never used an Android phone before but I like HTC Sense and I like the apps. It does stutter a bit if you have a bunch of apps open. Such a gorgeous screen, I'm definitely going to buy one. Really wish there was a way to truly kill apps natively aside from that killer app. Stuff like Amazon MP3 and Voice Dialer seem to launch again automatically after some time.
2. No difference I can detect, seems solid.
3. I really can't tell. It feels exactly like the HD2.

I had an EVO in my hands today at Google IO. The screen is glass. The grill on the face of the phone is silver. The camera is ringed in red and beneath the kickstand is also red. I took a picture of myself with the EVO, then had someone snap a picture of me holding the EVO with my picture on it! The phone meets all the hype. I can't wait for June 4th, or I have seen some blogging the EVO's might be the BIG suprise at the keynote tomorrow. I doubt I will get much sleep tonight.

I can't wait to try this out. Cause I am used to having a keyboard. I have the TP2. My friend has Vlingo on his BB and he has to say puncuations and all that too. So it will type your whole text and emails? I'm getting the Blue Ant Q1 I think and it has a new Android App and it says it will read your text? Anyone have a Blue Ant Q1?

I spoke to a Sprint rep tonight I had to call tech support trying to help my coworker put the new Android on his moment. This guy saw where I lived Louisville Kentucky and said oh we had a meeting today your rolling out with 4G the same time as Miami in November. I hope he was right. I asked if he knew what accessories were coming with it and he said well you don't expect a 450 dollar to not have a screen protector. I said my TP2 came with one and he said this one should too. Then I asked if it was going to have Swype and he said yes and it also has Skype. I don't know if he was right or not but he said this phone is the I phone killer and it's gonna be so awesome and was talking about all it's features. I said oh I already pre ordered through EVP and he said oh then you'll get yours a couple days before everyone else. Plus there is a warehouse in my city so I really hope I get it before the 4th..



I tested out the voice recognition on the Incredible in a busy verizon store with all kinds of background noise and it got every word exactly correct, including punctuation like commas and periods based on how long you pause. It even writes LOL if you laugh. I wasn't expecting much, but I was really impressed and I plan to use it a lot with the Evo since it doesn't have a physical keyboard.[/QUOTE]
 
Yes I would like to know that too. The rep told me that for the extra 10 bucks you would get Fox News and all the premium channels that were extra before. Does it have Swype? Tonight a tech support rep from Sprint told me yes it had Swype and that it also had Skype and that it came with a screen protector in the box. He also said there was a meeting today and that my city Louisville Kentucky is rolling out with 4G in November same time as Miami but who knows if he was for real or not. How's battery life on it? I wish the phone would hurry up and get here.
