Very clever install! Looks super. Wish I had looked around a bit more before I bought mine for $25 or whatever.

Oh, just a thought for you. I noticed that your mount (where the disc physically slides into) is upside down. Not sure if that's going to cause any issues while driving. If you wanted to, you can completely remove the screw that tightens it up and flip it right side up. I didn't realize the parts were reversible at first, so just wanted to throw that out there.

I got the Tetrax XWAY from thinkgeek yesterday. Fits at the perfect angle on the vent in my '98 Subaru. Freaking amazing little gizmo; it's actually quite brilliant, and very very strong. I have no worries of it falling out. Bonus: AUX cable and charge cable come through the vent now, to prevent cables all lose. It looks fantastic :D

Well the disc has a notch in it, when slide in I have it where it shouldn't slide out. I have to slide in at bout 45 degrees then turn it landscape.

I just ordered 2 from wiredforless.com using a discount code "woot" for 5 bucks each, and a 5$ shipping fee.

(Almost too good to be true...I used paypal.)

wish i knew bout that, oh well, still happy. we should make a soundgate m2 thread, and have everyone post there setups.

I got my XWAY as well, and as stated previously, the thing works like a charm. Easy non-permanent installation and it really holds the phone with VZ silicone extremely well. As a test, I took one of the larger disc and put it on Garmin 765T with the charging bracket (probably twice the weight of the phone) and drove around looking for speed bumps. To my surprise, it held on without any trouble. The best of all, it literally takes a second to put on/remove from the 'X' allowing me to use it even when I'm not using it for GPS/music. At first it seemed somewhat expensive for the amount of material it uses but after using it for a couple of days, I would have paid more for its brilliant design and execution. I'd recommend it.

I could not agree more. I just bought (3) more, one for my dad for fathers day, one for girlfriend and one for daughter. I showed my GF and Daughter the M2 as I am not using it now, and they both wanted the Tetrax. I am almost as giddy about it as I am my incredible. Brilliant design and simplicity makes me love it even more, and I can bring it to other vehicles.

Just got the Stock Verizon Incredible Car Dock. It fits the DI perfect without a case. So if you have a case you have to take it off (bummer). Also the clip on the top of the phone blocks the 3.5mm jack which I use for streaming music to my AUX input to my stereo (this is the deal breaker for me). I also still actually use wired head set because I got sick of charging another thing. So I'll have to say thumbs up on the adjustably of the Dock but a big thumbs down to functionality.

Any ideas for something similiar?

You could drill a hole in the stock dock for your 3.5mm jack issue (don't do it with the phone in the dock ;) ). You are beat on the case though.

I got a verizon dock today and am experiencing a little bit of rattle. Isolated it to the holster attachment itself. The screw in the back that holds the clip to the holster and allows it to rotate to 90 degrees has some fairly easy give for about 5-10 degrees, allowing the rattle. Did I get a crap dock or do the rest of yours do this too?

I'm thinking of just gluing or securing it at its current rotation as I don't plan on using it in landscape mode, but am mostly curious. The screw is as tight as it will go, before anyone suggests that =)

I just got my M2 today and had this thought:

I want to get an Innocase II but looking at the back of it, its not flat. It has bumps and grooves just like the incredible back. Would this interfere with the little plastic mounting disc at all? Am I better off with the flat backed VZW case?

I just got my x-way today and mounted it up. I wish the x section of it was a stiffer rubber or hard plastic to support the phone better when you try to use the phone in the mount. I use slacker radio and phone moves around quite a bit when pressing buttons and widgets and such. I love the mounting quality though. Very stout and secure.

2 questions about this M2:

1. Can the part mounted to the dash with adhesive be removed without leaving residue?

2. What about the disk affixed to the back of the phone?? Is this permanent? Can one use a case and apply the disk to that instead?

1. Had on my dash (see pics in this post). Removed no problem, no marks.

2. Not permanent, removed, no marks. I used on my VZW Black Gel, see pics this thread.

Interesting, I have no issues, although I am using Gel Case by VZW and I made sure I mounted squarely on back of phone, with magnet attached to XWAY, sticker removed, square it up using XWAY as a guide. No matter what way it is on there, I am hitting good, no wobble whatsoever.

How stiff is your x material. I am just saying that if you try to hit the button on the bottom (shutter button), the phone pushed backwards a ways. If the x was stiff plastic it would not do that.

It is softer than harder. It does give a little, but not enough that I am worried it will come off.

Just played around with Verizon's "official" HTC Incredible Car dock. Man that thing is HUGE. I'm wanting something that is as unnoticed as can be, and includes at least a charging station for the phone. There's no way I'm going to drop the money on a car dock that looks like a part of the structure of the car is puncturing through my dash.

Hey Tetrax owners...2 questions for you.

1) What sized disc are you using? I want to use that tiny one, but wanted to verify it's strong enough first.

2) Did you guys mount the disc dead center on your phone? I have my M2 mount a little above center so I can use it while on a table. Wondering if I should do the same or go dead center with the Tetrax disc.

And after a handful of overly complicated ideas, both of my test mounts showed up today and I found a very simple way to mount the XWAY to the M2 with extreme stability. Just need to get my disc mounted and I should be all set.

Here's a few pics of my MWAY mod.

I wish I did this, mine is a tab below center, so when I lay it down it tilts where the ear piece is down and the mic is up. When I put on Seidio I will mount just like yours.

Good thinking and great job.

I'm using the mid-sized disk. I'm sure the small disk will hold just fine. I think the disk size is more for adhering to the device, not the magnetic hold.

I mounted mine ~3/4" above center. That way it is nice and stable on a table and still allows me to rotate it to landscape in the mount (too far towards the top and gravity will swing it back to portrait).

Thanks for the info Blue. Do to the X, I have to mount the disc a little closer to center than the M2 mount, but it's still above the center line which should allow normal usage on a table. I also decided to go with the disc you have in that image due to the greater surface area of the adhesive. I'll get the finished up and then updated.
