So not ulcers then?
How are you doing today, @tommo47? Keeping everything down okay [I hope]? How are you feeling overall?
.Man I wish I could say been in hospital two times. At last count by some of the creatures they call"sisters".2021 stitches,612 Staples,27 broken bones (nose 5x, Neck 2x)5x gunshots. OH yeah, almost forgot, doing Chemo Shots for Intestinal Cancer. Refused anymore chemotherapy treatment. Was 240 lbs with 0.02% body fat.Now 170lbs. Stopped chemo at 141lbs.53 now. So your winning against me right now. Good luck to you and your family with this. And remember every day you open your eyes is a blessing...
Cancer then. I had that.
The ulcercomment was because after the cancer was excised I went through a long period of not being able to process (TMI)
Turns out I had holes in my intestines. I've been fine since that was taken care of.
. The PET Scan shows some abnormals as well as the tumour on my oesophagus so I'm waiting for an Ultrasound scan which will hopefully give the medical team some additional info to help decide the treatment plan
.Damn. That's a rough one @tommo47
We're you a smoker or exposed to smoke filled environments?
. Fortunately I've never had any breathing problems and certainly since 2010 when I had a high blood pressure scare, have led quite an active and healthy lifestyle. The doctor was not a pill pusher and was very much in favour of diet and exercise to control it. So ever since then I've kept my weight well within my BMI range and found ever increasing enjoyment in long, often quite tough, fell walks. In fact I'm champing at the bit to get back out there once I've regained a bit of strength/stamina now I'm eating and drinking again.
That's a very good sign, but be careful not to overdo it! You've been through a lot, and you're going to need some time to recover and heal.I'm champing at the bit to get back out there once I've regained a bit of strength/stamina now I'm eating and drinking again.

When you are ready, start slow and build up gradually. Remind yourself you have nothing to prove, no race to win, no one to impress. Just enjoy yourself, and let nature take its course.![]()
. My wife will insist on coming with me to begin with (all my walks/hikes are done on my own normally which is a definite no-no for a while), and will probably start with gentle strolls together along the local canal

Hang in there and please keep us updated. We care.I see it as a good sign that the doctors aren't rushing treatment. I could be way off base, but I'm seeing it as meaning there's no hurry, i.e., the cancer is well-contained in the tumor and not metastasizing.
, they want to be as sure as possible that it is confined to the tumour on the oesophagus, so are eliminating the various abnormals that the PET Scan showed. The results of the Ultra Sound scan have shown my chest is clear. A 2nd area of concern is half way up my spine - a bone biopsy has been considered but after much deliberation by the speciaIists I will probably have a MRI scan first.Hey there @tommo47, how are you doing? Curious--and concerned--minds would like to know!
(As always, don't post if you'd rather not. Don't feel pressured to say anything you really don't want to.)

. I haven't had a weetabix for donkey's years!!Though I'm not familiar with that [on my side of the pond], I've deduced it's a breakfast food (cereal?) you like, but haven't had in ages. When you get the okay from the docs, ask your wife to bring you some!quite fancy a weetabix for breakfast this morning. I haven't had a weetabix for donkey's years!!
