Is anyone having any trouble with LP force closing due to Android Agenda Widget? They both updated last night and I can't figure out which one is causing me the FCs.

That looks nice, jearl. I cannot get my newly downloaded LP 3 to change from the default, drab icons, though.

Nothing in the menu. Hmm..

Long press on the icon you want to change.

Yeah, I was.. I think my problem was that I disallowed a reboot after the LP upgrade this morning because the phone was busy with messages, emails, etc. .. bad timing.

Following restarting the device, it's working now.. :)

If someone wants to get rid of Sense once and for all, then I would suggest not buying an HTC device.

absolutely untrue statement. I have sense disabled. At startup my phone uses launcher pro straight off the bat. You don't have to use sense. You can also use roms that have it completely removed.

My phone runs great with out sense. It has been about a week now and I cant imagine going back to sense. Now all I need is to get this crappy call quality worked out and the phone will be ideal.

What's the comparison on response times vs. Sense?

On my device Launcher Pro is quite quick in transitioning from app to app, screen to screen, etc.

It is probably a bit quicker than Sense. It seems about the same as Home.

A lot of that is subjective perception; I have not timed anything.

I don't thing there is an official comparison. I had many issues with sense being slow and unresponsive, with launcherpro that is all gone. When I click on it, it opens. My observations are merely related to functionality. My phone with 1.5 and sense was decent. My phone with 2.1v3 and sense sucked badly. My phone with 2.1v3 and launcherpro is fast and responsive.

I only have poor call quality. A version of the silent bug. Where people I am talking to me suddenly cannot hear me and think I hung up, then they can hear me again. I can hear them the whole time however they get quiet like the volume was lowered but then it comes back.

Thanks. This is good to know. I had GDE, and while visually appealing, was a bit buggy and was a pig on processor usage (response times became pretty bad).

The Launcher Pro developer(s) seem to have uncorked a very nice system with good configuration capabilities, all the while keeping it "light" and, as far as my perceptions go, fast.

No issues at all for me, although there have been a few crashes reported here and there by other users.

I tried LP beta for a little while, but I still like the smooth scrolling better on Sense. I found myself having to swipe my thumb all the way across a screen in LP to make it shift to the next one, while in Sense I can just make a quick, small swipe to do the same thing.

Hmm... I wonder why. Mine switches with about a half-inch of finger movement.

Can you tell me where you would disable senseui from?

Thanks,

Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Navigate to "Sense">clear defaults.

When you press the home key you will see a dialog box Select "Home" and check the box to do this action by default. Press home.

You can repeat this process to go back to using sense.

Wow, neat red "search" font I have there, and of course I cannot edit my post to fix this....I am "On Probation" afterall, and apparently I've lost that privelidge for now.

Just made the switch, and I have to say, it's a much snappier interface. I was never keen on the widgets from HTC except for the notes widget... Drawing a little picture or writing a quick note with your finger and having it visible all the time was a sweet deal...
