Interesting Articles.. post some interesting articles that other might enjoy.

They are amazing craft, having functioned ten times as long as planned. Contrary to the article, neither was designed to explore the edge of the solar system. They were launched to explore the outer planets. A rare planetary alignment allowed NASA to slingshot the probes from one planet to the next... and then sling them off into the far reaches of space. Radio waves, traveling at the speed of light (it takes 8 minutes for sunlight to reach us from the star we orbit), take an entire DAY to reach the Voyagers, and another day for the return signal.

Sounds like we need Barkley to use "Pathfinder".

@Unforgiven : thoughts? I'm sure you've heard of this given your geographical location :goofydroid:
Cover up exacerbated by corruption all blown out of proportion by a national spotlight. If I come across a good synopsis I'll post it, but essentially prosecution stories changes over time, the evidence didn't back up the testimony

It happened in the middle of a blizzard, they didn't secure the crime scene, they collected blood samples in red solo cups, handed them off to "someone," and transported them to the police station in a used grocery bag. Officers were seen with the car in the Sally port, then weeks later, these officers "found" taillight fragments on the ground at the unsecured crime scene, etc. A real poop show. Oh, and the officers that investigated, one was fired, and none of them were called as witnesses. The state's expert witness lied on his resume about his education. That's some of the egregious stuff of the top of my head, without getting into the conspiracy stuff.

My wife is from Massachusetts, but we hadn't heard anything about that. Her defense (that the BF was killed by fellow officers) is disturbing, to say the least. Of course her own actions are pretty disturbing as well. In all, it sounds as though it should have been in Florida... ;)
What I don't get is, all the guys involved were police officers and the thing they decide to do in what was called an epic snowstorm even for an area that deals with a lot of snow is go out bar hopping and basically drink and drive. Play stupid games...win stupid prizes.

The red solo cups to collect evidence is still just a mind blowing moment. And then the plastic tail light pieces being found later and in 40 something pieces? Plastic tail lights don't really break up in small pieces like that. It's all just crazy and we'll never know the true story.

I wonder how many years that will add up in her studies she did alone?

I guess you can wait for the movie. BTW, that guy is a big reason she went free.

Yeah, don't care about movies with a written script as those are always so far from what actually happened when it comes to true stories. I've watched the documentaries and I'm pretty much done with it for now. That turtle dude is annoying, but yes, he really helped her cause.

Claim sharks are absolute scum of the earth! They charge outrageous fees to do the same thing that a veterans organization service officer will do for FREE. Whether it's American Legion, DAV, VFW, AMVETS... they're VA-certified and receive annual training. At least this is one claim shark company that will be shut down for good.

The Shape of the Universe: Flat, Open, or Closed?

The shape of the universe plays a critical role in understanding its size and fate. Cosmologists consider three possibilities:

  1. Flat Universe: Like a sheet of paper, it stretches endlessly in all directions. Observations of the cosmic microwave background suggest the universe is very close to flat, which supports the idea of an infinite universe.
  2. Closed Universe: Like the surface of a sphere, it’s finite but unbounded. A closed universe would eventually stop expanding and start contracting—ending in a “Big Crunch.”
  3. Open Universe: Like a saddle shape, it expands forever but has negative curvature. It’s infinite but expands faster and faster.
Current evidence points toward a flat universe that is expanding at an accelerating rate due to dark energy.

Possibility of Life on Mars

Currently, there is no conclusive evidence of life on Mars, either past or present. However, scientists believe that Mars may have been habitable billions of years ago when it had liquid water, a thicker atmosphere, and warmer temperatures.

Factors Affecting Life on Mars

  • Historical Conditions: Mars had conditions that could support life, such as liquid water and a warmer climate.
  • Current Environment: Today, Mars is cold, dry, and has high radiation levels, making it inhospitable for life as we know it.
  • Ongoing Research: Missions like the Perseverance rover are searching for signs of ancient life and studying Martian soil and rocks for biosignatures.
In summary, while the universe is incredibly large, the search for life on Mars continues, focusing on its ancient past rather than current conditions. -- I still think that Mars has a lot to offer, with the ice recently discovered. I think it is also the massive heatwaves surrounding the sun that is making it perfect when it shifts either side on coldness and warm.
