When did you first started, like what age?
I grew up working for my father and uncle who were in the trim carpentry business together. The first year I worked daily across the summer was 1966. It was the summer before I started high school. I worked every summer and every weekend from that point on. I retired in 2021 but I started working when I was ten or so... setting nails.

I found my old iPod Mini in a box and powered it up only to remember the hard drive was dead. I flash modded it and installed a new battery. I can't wait to use it on my trip to Alaska in a few weeks.

I don't know why... but, for some reason, this site refuses to log me in on Brave Browser (even with shields off). I can use it, however, with Firefox. I'm just none too happy with the direction Mozilla has been going lately, so I've been looking for an alternative for use with this site. I found Waterfox, which is essentially a Mozilla-free version of Firefox. Very privacy focused, but at least this site runs on it. It installs on my Linux machines via Flatpak and runs on very few resources.

As long as you are here Chief, that's the bottom line for us! :)

Taken in 10 seconds within one another.

That sounds like a fascinating blend of visual imagination, pareidolia, and possibly phosphene perception—though it doesn’t have a single, widely recognized name.

Here’s how it breaks down:

Pareidolia
This is the tendency to perceive familiar patterns—like faces or animals—in random stimuli. When you morph a shadow into something else in your mind, you're engaging in pareidolic visualization.

Phosphenes
These are the colorful lights or patterns you might see when you rub your eyes or focus intensely. If you're seeing rainbow-like effects while staring at a shadow, it could be your brain interpreting retinal stimulation or light diffraction creatively.

Active Imagination / Mental Projection
Carl Jung used the term “active imagination” to describe the process of consciously engaging with inner imagery. You might be mentally projecting meaning or color onto a neutral shape, like a shadow.

Synesthetic-like Visualization
While not true synesthesia, some people experience cross-sensory associations—like seeing colors when thinking about shapes or emotions. Your rainbow perception might be a form of imaginative synesthetic response.

It’s a beautiful example of how the mind can transform the mundane into something magical. Do you find this happens more when you're relaxed, daydreaming, or in a certain emotional state?

I fixed a problem on Whatsapp, noticed the other day, and I had the contact with only four numbers something like 5555-555 on the app, so what I did was deleted it and I did not let the cloud synch with the devices, and I noticed it went away.
