I think most will kick themselves for spending money on protectors, but I mean if you want that piece of mind, I'm not going to blame you.... its your phone so do what you want. I just got my incredible and WOW!!!! good luck everyone with yours. Its the same screen and everything as the incredible.
YouTube - Nexus One- Overly Excessive Screen Test
Take a couple specs of dirt or sand and scrape them around on your screen and see how that works. Main ingredient in glass is silica and guess what. The main ingredient in dirt and sand is silica too. Therefore they are hard enough to scratch the glass. Metal such as keys and scissors while sharp are too soft to scratch the glass.

2nd one looks pretty good, the thing I notice is that it seems to resisist fingerprints A LOT more than my naked screen did. it also seems smoother to slide on. (and yes i did double check to make sure they sent me the right ones) the protector is perfectly clear. the only issues i have is that the corners seem to lift up pretty easy, this very well may be from my install though. other than that I am deligted with the product. the only concern I have is how well they will hold up when I try to slide my innocase case onto it.
