got my incredible REPLACEMENT (new not refurb'd) and it feels WIDER/THICKER/HEAVIER anyone else?

One thing I noticed in your pics is that the preorder screen has the pink hue associated with the earlier Incredibles. Perhaps the newer screen remedies the pink coloration but at the cost of contrast? My brother has a newer one without the pinkish hue and mine is without and I could have sworn when I looked at the two my screen seemed to have more contrast. Now I'm starting to think perhaps it's not just all in my head. Will have to do a side by side with my brother's later this week.

From what I understand, HTC/VZW cannot change the battery in any aspect without FCC testing/approval (which, to my knowledge, has only happened once.. when the phone was first released)
 
I can bet on anything that they both are the same. People want to believe what they want to believe. As far as the pink hue is concerned, some have it worse than others. Some people claim to have charged their phones completely and observed less pink hue.

haha no i didn't. on a POSITIVE note though, upon more inspections/comparisons... i'd say the overall build quality on my replacement inc is better than my preorder, just wish it was the same exact size as my first one and had the same screen. like nm4 said some posts above this, i have a feeling they may have changed screens to alleviate the hue issues but at the cost of less contrast, and i definately prefer more contrast, even if colors are more saturated :) i'd say the average person prefers higher contrast and oversaturation.. i used to be a samsung tv rep and would visit retail stores and put our tv's in torch mode and people would be like "wow the samsungs look wayyy better, look at how vivid those colors are and look at how dull that one looks (pointing to a properly calibrated set) :P
 
Wow that's interesting. Makes me want to call up or go to the store or whatever to get a replacement for the pink screen issue I have.
 
I ordered one each for me and my wife which we received 5-27-10. Hers got stolen and she got a new(in a new box) replacement about 6-7-10. I can tell you hers now has a very noticeable pinkish hue when placed next to mine. Never compared the originals but I noticed this one without looking for it.
 
damn, th difference in screens is concerning. that amoled looks like lcd. i would bitc# and complain until i get a beautiful display. that does not look like amoled at alll
 
Oh boy... i dropped my phone bad last night which dented the camera lens..so i was planning on getting a new Dinc on the 29th day to start fresh...but now i dont want a crappier screen since i do not suffer from the pink screen issues.
 
I am currently awaiting a replacement phone (not a factory refurb, it's supposed to be new in the box) and I am going to be a very unhappy customer if the screen is anything less than the beautifully crisp and vivid one that is on my current Incredible. I can't really see why the screen would be any different other than maybe inconsistency in the manufacturing and quality control issues. I don't think HTC would be release an "updated" screen to correct for this pink tinge issue some people have mentioned without addressing it in some way but I could be wrong. So Tuesday when I get home from work and open up the new box that should be waiting for me, I'll post what my findings are. As I said, I hope the phone is basically identical sans any issues this one has given me.
 
Personally, I don't see a significant difference between the two. Regarding the screens, HTC cannot change the screen (resolution, type, etc.) without FTC approval. Differences likely due to manufacturing differences between original batch and new batches.
 
Sorry to be a skeptic, but did anyone happen to notice that the bottom edge of the 'thinner' phone in both sets of pics happens to be slightly 'lower', from our perspective, as well?
 
I have a replacement being sent to me and they said I should receive it on tuesday. I asked if it was gong to be refurbished and they said yes. So how did you get a brand new incredible as a replacement? I will post any findings but I do hope they send me a new one.

I'm not sure if you were directing this towards me or not but I was within my 30 day manufacturers warranty period. So when they weren't able to resolve my issue with trouble shooting and it was recurring they said all they could do was send me a new phone, thus the new phone. If i wasn't in the 30 day warranty period though it would have been a refurb phone.

I wrote off any difference in thickness in the pictures as being poor angle choice. BUT the difference in screen brightness..... that surprises me.
 
I am calling BS on this I one. I got a replacement phone because of a bad earpiece. The replacement didn't cone with a battery. You use the one from the original phone. My replacement us the exact same badass as the first. Keep smoking.
