recently I am seeing my phone call/voice quality taking a dive. The voices breaks up, to a point I have to repeat each sentence few times. Since voice doesn't use 4G, is there anything I can do to improve call quality?

Google tells me that I should be able send a text message to my metro PCS when I email the message in the following number. 10digitphonenumber@mymetropcs.com 10digitphonenumber@metropcs.sms.us I tried and not getting anything. Not sure if this is phone or carrier related.
