  • you can only use apex themes and if you want to set your phone back to stock you just restore the backup you made right after you rooted and unroot then data/factory reset
Ok now what about other themes not bye apex can u use them? N say I want to put my phone back to factory how do I go about doing that? Just asking for future.
the only place i have seen themes for apex is here ,,,themes must be rom specific meaning the theme must be compatible with the rom
Themes For ApeX (12/19/10) - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum
So I put that one theme on I like it .. but it goes to recovery after I chatge my phone in the morning but you said no biggie so im good with it.. thank you again!!! N was wondering if u could throw some more good themes my way... or a good site to get them from..
once again..u have helped greatly. i just wish i could have used the ROM. i lost a lot of contact numbers. would syncing to google before using the ROM solve the problem?
yes just follow the instructions posted by the dev,,usually first post of the thread will give instructions for themes and roms alike...but yes what i showed you is the basic structure for installing roms
ok. i guess the same methods that u have schooled me on are the same methods to use if i want to install other roms
it will be in both but you restore it through bootstrap...
    go into recovery via bootstrap
    scroll to backup/restore
restore it..(it should just be a date)...you can rename them but we can get to that later
once its done restoring just reboot
i know i sound ignorant...but where do i look for the backup? in bootstrapper or my files?
restore the backup you made before installing the rom(hopefully you made the backup)...sync your phone with google and your numbers should come back
ok. other than a few problems...lost some phone numbers....what r the steps to return to the way the phone was before i installed the ROM? i did use bootstrapper.
you are very welcome ,,,,dont be shy to ask questions and i will always try to respond in due time..thank you for the appreciation!
well, i totally THANK YOU in a major way. thanks for all the time and the patience. i guess all i need to do now is setting my X up the way i want it. as far as other questions...i will refer to the forum. again...THANKS...i guess you can count three more thanks to your list.
well a lot of it has to do with which rom you use....and i reccommend you to charge your batt too 100%...only when its at 100 ,,,open bootstrap recovery then scroll to advanced then clear batt stats,,,that should help and also look in the forum there are a lot of threads and tips for batt life
if you downloaded them straight you may have to re download them or restore them using your file manager,,,astro or whatever you use
ok. one more thing before i leave ya to your day. the apps on the market i under stand, but i see none of the icons for Z4...or wireless tether, which i downloaded directly to the X
no they will reinstall through the cloud(google)...just go open the market and they will all install in about ten min or so
ok. it worked. i see an ugly dandelion...but it seems to have worked. now that i have it...i assume i need to go back and re-install the apps i had before?
then take out the batt...then put it back in....now when you go to restsrt your x hold down poer and home at the samr time until you see a orange triangle and a little droid guy...then press the searck button (this is stock recovery),,,then scroll to datawipe/factory reset and select it then reboot,,see if that does the trick
