RIP, Tom, and thanks for all the music. You sure had a unique ability to set a story to music. And a pretty darn good voice, too.

Circling back in last year’s thread to add this sad update: Mr. Hall took his own life. No indication of what events led to that, but it still compounds the loss.

Here’s the annual clip from this year’s Oscars “In Memoriam” segment. I saw two memorable names I didn’t recall seeing in this thread: Yvette Mimieux and Clarence Williams III, May they Rest In Peace.

Of course this year’s Oscars will be most remembered for the altercation between Will Smith and Chris Rock.
