Long shot - could you check ownership and permissions of /cache/download and /data/local/download? Root explorer can do it - long press and select properties. Should be owner system, group cache, permissions rwxrwx--x.

Problem with that theory is that I'm using DT with CM7, and 06mountdl is doing its job fine.@InfernalByte,
Are you flashing DT over the CM7? If yes, I think DT is the cause of the problem blocking 06mountdl script.

@InfernalByte,
If you got the script working with the Alpharev table, are you also using a2sd+?
I'd suggest to use the S2E for CM7, which can individually move apps, Dalvik, AND the Download cache to /sd-ext/download location.
If you are jumping, why make just one step? Do 2 steps and get a dual-core...As soon as Cyanogen write a rom for the Desire S I'll be givin this ol faithful to my sister. I notice there's already a separate forum for it, probaly a bad idea.

It just about fits in the old Oxygen table, but you have to be careful when that tight on space: I flashed a UOT theme and overflowed /systemDoesn't the "CM7 skinny" fit in AlphaRev Oxygen r2?
Saves 45MB extra space.

After a lot of pa lava including Titanium refusing to accept root privileges the Oxygen r2 table works, but I still ave no idea why the custom mtd wouldn' do its thing.
