Is there a 1 click root for the Galaxy S II that's running gingerbread?

I have a friend that just got this phone and wants me to root it. I have a Samsung Transform Ultra and rooted it easily with a 1 click....

If not whats the easiest way to root this phone?

I myself don't have a GS2 but if you take his advice on the ics update, read up on it before you update. I've heard wicked bad things from the GS2 update like horrid battery life coming from gb, software issues and such. Good luck rooting

Yes, there were many complaints about the 4.0.3 update. The 4.0.4 update seems much better.

People can always go back to Gingerbread if they don't like ICS. ;)

Thank you for your help. I did the update and root no problems...He was one happy camper..lol.. Thanks again..

You're welcome.

I would have him go to recovery and do a backup first thing if he hasn't already. If he ever deletes the wrong thing or has a problem with a rom he'll have a good copy to restore.

That was the first thing I did...he just informed me that root didn't take even though super user app was in the drawer...I walked him through how to do it again...**crossing fingers**

I've had to do it several times before it worked.
