Help 100% to shut down in less then an hour

Bad battery seems most likely, but two bad ones seems unlikely. Stock batteries or the el cheapo batteries from Hong Kong?

Thanks guys.
2 of the bats are the el chepo ones I baught off Amazon with a wall charger.
the 3rd bat is the original that came with the phone
I normally charge the phone with USB (work computer, car charger, home plug in unit) I rearly use the wall charger.

This is giving me a way bad feeling about getting a LTE

Yeah I've never seen a battery just die when it showed 50%. Sounds like a bad battery, or maybe it's somehow coming loose from the connection on the back of the case?

In any event, I have had great luck with these, as have several others on this forum. I bought them about 4 months ago or so and no problems whatsoever.

Amazon.com: Anker 1700mAh Li-ion Battery for HTC EVO 4G, Touch Pro 2, Tilt 2, Snap + Free Anker Multi-purpose USB Travel Charger: Cell Phones & Accessories

I just ordered from your link. Thanks
Decided for 12 bucks I might as well get it even if I will get the new Evo 4G LTE

My EVO is exhibiting some strange characteristics.

When I turn it on and if the battery capacity is anywhere around 40%, it goes into the restart process. When it finally finishes, it MAY display the home page. If it does, it also warns me that battery is less than 10% -- Usually, it's 1% -- and put it on the charger. Other times, it just turns itself off. When I press the power button to turn it on, it restarts yet again and may display the home page when done or it may turn off.

As a test, I recharged the battery yesterday, turned it on, and let it remain on (tapping the screen everytime it dimmed). This is the battery depletion rate:
Time - PCT
1341 - 100
1343 - 95
1349 - 90
1352 - 85
1354 - 80
1357 - 74
1359 - 70
1402 - 65
1404 - 60
1407 - 55
1409 - 50
1412 - 45
1414 - 40
1417 - 35
1419 - 30
1422 - 25
1425 - 19
1427 - 15
1429 - 10
1432 - 05
1433 - 01

So it took only 53 minutes for the battery to deplete to 1%. A new battery is on order (ankar) and we'll see what, if any, difference it makes.

I'm less and less happy with my EVO....Now that Sprint is on the iPhone, it's becoming more attractive.

yeah sounds like a battery issue more then the phone. a new battery should work. and remember the evo has been around for a few years now. batteries do go bad, but this phone is still around and still going strong.

going to an iphone? when there is the galaxy nexus or even the evo lte? but that is your choice to make not mine.

hope the new battery works out for you. let us know.
