The proximity sensor works, but for some of my calls, not all of them, but enough to be really annoying, it turns off in the middle of the call. If my caller holds on long enough, I can usually get them back, but usually they hang up, because they think I have hung up on them.

Verizon should do an equipment swap. I'd go talk to them.
 
News/weather app issues anyone?

It cant even find my zipcode. I have to use city next to me. This app claims to use weather channel links/info, but if i load actual weather channel app, the temps/info are completely different! Now that they gave us this stock app, how do we get it to show the temp all the time?

Nothing changed for me with this app. Still useless to me. The minute you setup your acct there is no way to not save ur PW. Yahoo/hotmail/etc etc all completely open to whomever may pickup ur droid...
 
Some bugs I've seen....

Widgets: After the phone wakes up from sleep, all of my widgets won't load. They all report 'Problem loading widget'. This has only happened once so far. After a few minutes they all came back to life on their own.

Weird phone behavior: Tapped a ph # on a web page. Phone dialer opened up w/ the # pre-loaded like it should. Hit the dial button and nothing happened. Waited a few secs, hit it again...nothing. Hit it a 3rd time....nothing. Went back to the web page...all of a sudden the dialer kicks in and the phone calls the number - a good 25-30 secs after I 1st hit dial.

I'm rooted and running Fab's ESE81 ROM.
 
I got a replacement droid friday because the headphone jack on my old one was flakey. When I booted the new one, it said I could upgrade to 2.1, so I did.

Now when I make calls the screen goes blank immediately and won't come on when I'm done; I have to open the keyboard or pull the battery to get the screen to come on again. How can I tell whether the problem is 2.1 or the replacement phone?

O ok I wonder wat the next update will bring. Any thoughts on wat the next update should bring? Wat would u want on ur nex update?
 
Anyone have any info on how much the live wallpapers affect the battery life after the official 2.1ota update? Just got it on my droid and i am having a live wallpaper because i think its cool, but my work place has no hardly any 3g coverage so my battery drains sooner than most. So i have no accurate way to tell if live wallpapers effect the battery or not.
 
I am unable to get my images to rotate left or right in the gallery. I have also tried photoshop.com mobile and PicSay Pro. None of them will let me rotate any image.

Anyone else?
 
I didn't see where this was posted but since the 2.1 upgrade, I have random apps showing as open in advanced task killer that never opened pre 2.1. I mean like voice dialer, amazon MP3 store(never even opened that one), among other I very rarely use.
 
My 2.0.1 was rooted and i did the OTA upgrade and my phone slowed a little but still worked. I removed the battery for 30 minutes and it helped a lot.
 
I ran the update this morning and have not been able to get past the red eye start up screen (and we're taking hours). I tried removing the batter and restarting... no change. Any suggestions why this is and what to do about it. I hate to do a factory reset but I'm afraid it's my only option, at this point.

Should have left it alone !

Not surprisingly, mail, contacts, & calendar for default Google account synced, and quickly.

Market > Downloads looks good -- at least most of my apps are there with status of free, purchased or installed.

Questions so far.
Any ideas what conditions lead to never-ending boot loop condition? I was at stock 2.0.1 and had never rooted.
Market re-installation of apps does not appear to be continuing. 9 were re-installed, 141, give or take, to go. It's been 2 or 3 of hours. I'm inclined to go into business for myself -- start manually reinstalling, in Market > Downloads. Any reason I should not do this?
Are stock browser bookmarks synced with Google account? Reason I ask is mine have been preserved, if there's anything related on SD card, I sure haven't seen it.
My strategy is to first re-install backup-related apps to enable restoration of call logs, sms, ... things where new activity will result in data loss. If you see flaws in this thinking, do tell. And if you think of things besides call logs and messages I should consider, do tell that as well.

And the day started out with so much promise. C'est la vie. :-)

Where do I find this recovery mode writeup. I'm also stuck on the flashing red eye startup screen.
 
I just got the update and i really want the live wallpapers but i have home++... does anyone know of a home app that allows live wallpaper?
 
Got my phone on March 25 and kept it stock. Applied the update when the update.zip was up for download here and now whenever I start up my google voice app it opens up two windows of my inbox. It started the day I upgraded. I've done a completely fresh uninstall/install and it didn't make a difference. I still get two windows.
 
The gallery looks nice but its is a mess. Every time I try to look at the photos the screen goes black. Even if I try to use the slide show it blacks out.

Just like with any other rechargeable device, allow it to run down as low as possible (i.e. play several long youtube videos or a looping game demo, until it shuts off) and then try charging it. Doing so will reset the battery monitoring chip. It happened to me a few times - before the upgrade.
 
Problem with Gallery -

I noticed that sometimes recent photos do not show up in the gallery. They are on the phone in the camera preview but they don't update to the gallery right away. I have managed to some how force them to show up but I had to go to Estrong file Explorer to find the photos which happen to be in the standard gallery location under DCIM. after going into Estrong they appeared the next time in the gallery.....what the heck.

Also noticed that photos are now being geo tagged.
 
Well, the new interface for the gallery is nifty looking, but the update has rendered the gallery unusable. When I go into it it just keeps trying and trying to work with no success, and then the screen goes black after maybe 10 seconds, after which it pops back in five seconds or so, but always back to the main gallery screen, regardless of where I was. Even setting pictures to the slideshow results in a blackout, followed by a return to the gallery first screen. Its impossible to even scroll through the pictures in a folder because the screen will black out and go back before I have even scrolled through half of them. Basically, the gallery was the main big thing in this update, and it is a lovely looking useless mess. OH, and every time I leave the gallery to go back to the main home screen, it changes my background, so thats another fun glitch. This upgrade did nothing but screw up my gallery, although if they can make it work it is more user-friendly and attractive than the old one.
 
I was about to go to bed and I got the update. I tried downloading it and it just gets stuck. The progess bar doesn't go anywhere. It has been downloading for over ten minutes and nothing is happening.
