2.1 OTA Beginning 5/11/2010

It would appear from my readings on this particular thread that the updates seem to come very early in the morning, at midnight or like 3 am. Can anyone confirm the update just showing up in the middle of the day?

"search google thats how i found it took a long time but i found a red and black froum with all version 1- 4 on it "

and your phone hasnt a sploded yet?!?!?

For those wanting to know if you can get the OTA on a 2.1 leak, all I have to say is this:
You can put the 2.1V3 leak on your phone over and over again, re-installing it as many times as you like. IF the OTA has the same build numbers as the 2.1V3 leak has, which it does, then this means that WHEN, not IF Verizon sends it to your phone, you will get it. It will simply be re-installing the software like you would be if you re-flashed the V3 leak. You WILL get the OTA update, either from Verizon directly over your phone, or from Verizon's website as a user installed piece of software. So, calm down, relax, and you will get it. Remember, a watched pot never boils.

VZW Support (VZWSupport) on Twitter (it's in the starting post too).

I haven't been following it religiously since I don't even "get" Twitter. But they're answering questions pretty frequently.

...and... ugh. Looks like this update WILL require me to re-download all my apps yet again. Hooray! :p

Not trying to give you information you may already know. But if you don't know, there are apps that allow you to backup all of your apps to the SD Card. I use app control. I think it costs $1.99. But it will save you from having to redownload all of your apps, and you can install them directly from your SD Card.

MyBackupPro is another good one..

my worry was the fact if your phone is up to date and you click system update it says your phone is up to date how does it know if you got leaked or official it may mistake your leak for the official and not send you the update

If for some crazy reason you do get skipped over, the official download will eventually be posted on verizon's website or pcdphones. So one way or another, you will get it.

The more I find to read, the antsier I get about it...

The v3 leak and these numbers are identical. I have no idea how Verizon would be able to make a phone think it needs updating when the software build numbers are the same... hopefully they know what they're doing, and/or we leak-users didn't screw things up permanently.

Leak v3 is NOT ready for prime time... and also doesn't "Display the desk clock while charging". (Not by default, anyway.) And no "Added support for stand-alone Wi-Fi when device is in
airplane mode" either. So they're not the same... yet... they are.

*sigh* Maybe it's time to give this all a rest for the weekend.
