Hey guys,I just checked the update on sony erricson and here you are:

The 5 latest software updates

When the new software is available, you will receive a message in the notification bar of your phone. To upgrade, connect your phone to a PC and use PC Companion. This will guide you through the entire update process. Information on how you backup your settings and data and how you restore them after the upgrade will also be provided.

If you don't have PC Companion already, download it via the button below.

New features include:
- HD video recording with continuous auto-focus for high quality videos
- New back up and restore application, with extended content back up
- 5 homescreens for apps, widgets, shortcuts and folders
- Social phonebook which shows when your friends are online (Facebook, Twitter, Google Talk)
- Upgrade of the Android platform to Android 2.1

Note that availability may be dependant on operator and/or market.

but when you connect it to SEUS it will say your phone is up to date I believe cause am on the slowest network for updates: THREE 3 ...


anyone with other UK network has got the update ???

EDIT: Although links states it is there ,I had a quick chat with a represntative and she advised it will be released depending on the carrier and you should check with your own network about the release date???
 
I am on Generic UK FW and still cannot update

EDIT: Just to confirm to everyone, the update is not yet released in the UK

I debranded from T-Mobile. Glad I did :)

Anyway, I will try again later on and let you know if it works :)
 
Apparently that message is displayed all over the world, so we could get it anytime, even after today
 
I have a generic mini, factory unlocked, and it's not updated yet
tried a few times today and all I get is the "phone is up to date" message.
I've even tried it with the sim card out as I'm on Vodafone

It is a rooting guide, but doing steps 1-5 only will debrand your phone :)

I spoke to useless THREE network rep. and after spending 30 min trying to reach the right people..here is the new...

rep: we have 2.1 for HTC but not for Xperia x10i... and we are not sure when we will be given 2.1 to test it on our network as it needs approval first from our technical team who needs to test various features and programs to ensure it comply with our network..I will add your number that you are interested in the update and will sms you once we recieve this update and implement it on our systems and you should be one of the lucky people to get it first on Three...:D

me: do you have a rough idea when we shall get it like few weeks

rep: it could take more than that am afraid I cannot give you an estimate..

me: you know mate..you are always behind in updates why don't you catch up with other networks and updates... you are even worse than SE themselves...

I wouldnt hold your breath waiting. they told me the same thing about the satio update that came out in march and im still waiting now
 
Can we have this thread closed please, there is no 2.1 available in the UK for any of the X10 series yet.

Sorry to banter but I dont know why the thread is titled - 2.1 released in UK - when it clearly isnt - nonsense and waste of time.

Sorry for been harsh guys but im right.
 
I hate to be like this and it's not my usual code of practice, im sure you will see this if you have a skimmer over to forum.gsmhosting.com and checkout my previous accounts in the past few years - mobilextreme, phonextra, compact phones.

You will see im a nice and polite gentleman :) - hence so many usernames, i've worked for numerous company's in this field and the user names represent them companies and the reason behind me switching companies is down to the way i was treat as a technition.

Anyhow guys - take care and cross your fingers - 2.1 shouldn't be too long now :) - we have seen them release to other countries yesterday and today so it will come.
 
I have had the title modified to have a question mark after it as this changes the expectation of anyone entering the thread otherwise it looked like a statement of fact which is misleading for all the good folk waiting for their update.
