Yep mine works.

Dont forget with O2, you automatically pick up Giffgaff etc so you have to prune your apns whren you flash a new rom.

i did but needed a reboot
eitherway that alpha transparency and 16k quality bug put me off. cant be doing with icons looking like shit

something go launcher doesnt like with the rom

Yeah I use Launcherpro. No problems there.

didnt like launcher pro. the nags constantly when pressing on something.
i like the features of go launcher most of which launcher pro will only offer on their premium "resizing etc"

Yeah. As I already had paid for those features, I dont get that issue and dont need to convert to Go.

Not noticed a problem with Redux and Go launcher myself.
Apart from the low quality scroll limit banding... but meh that's at the end of the menus anyway so I'm not worried how many millions of colours it's in.

youll notice it if you have widgets have outward facing transparency layers
like colourizes honeycomb clock or poweramps control buttons on their widgets
(youll see a dirty colour around the shape which will go to normal if you move homescreen by draging slowly and holding it)

the issue for me is golauncher doesnt do this with any other rom and its visible to the point where its pissing me off as i know its a bug

these are visible even when not scrolling.

I use poweramp widget 4x1 and can't say I notice anything untoward with the buttons with the homescreens static or being moved.

I read in the redux thread the the banding in the overscroll glow was to maximise performance so maybe its something done on purpose.

I dont suppose you tried it with LPP? I know you dont like it, but as you noticed it on go, it would have been interesting if you noticed it on LPP too.

its not just the banding, its stationary
i will take screenshots of GV then i will backup then restore my redux backup

take screenshots

i will test it with LP as well but its weird as default launcher is fine

brb may be a while

Redux 1.2 Launcherpro test (cant resize but you see how obvious it is)

this doesnt happen on other roms and must be rom related as it happens on launcher pro
the screenshots are large so while its still obvious it doesnt look as bad as it does on a smaller screen. also brightness plays a big factor

OK,

This probably isn't the forum or thread for this, but it seems sort of on topic and people on here have been really helpful before.

I am currently running GV1.4 and want to upgrade to 2.2.

Is it simply a case of downloading 2.2 & installing through VillainSetup or is there anything I should do before or in addition to?

Cheers.

id do a back up just in case but there shouldnt be any issues
ive not wiped for a long time

How about apps & data? Are they unaffected?
If you don't wipe, they won't be affected. And I also don't think you'll need to (I haven't since about GV 0.8).

But do take a nandroid first, just in case. My normal procedure is to download from Villain Setup, boot into recovery, take a nandroid then install the update (plus a few other things I flash at the same time).

Updated to GV2.2

Can't say I notice any difference from 1.4. What should I look out for (bear in mind Google Voice isn't available in the UK).

Many changes are often under the hood. Borken things fixed, performance improvements things like that. Did you read the change log?

what you think of my screenies Susan?
its something that needs addressing imo as it seems its intentionally degrading quality

Yes very interesting. Must say I haven't noticed but I don't use the same sorts of widgets as you. I have 3 screens made up of solid images using desktop virtualizer then, just calendar and messenger widgets so I only really see the issue with overscroll on white or light backgrounds.

Someone in that thread told me it was on purpose for performance reasons. I can't see it being particularly detrimental to performance to render images properly, personally.

if it is then im not using it. i didnt find it any smoother than on GV
doesnt make sense though as the stock launcher doesnt have problems
it seems what ever his tweek is affects the entire homespace on launchers that are not part of system

Is that possible? If I had a bit more space, I would try flashing LPP to system and check, but too much work and I am lazy :)
