Ok, being new to rooting I know this is probably going to be dumb questions, but I do not know the answers so I need to ask it. If, and when, a new OTA update is released for the X how does that affect us rooted folks? Can we take the update OTA? Do we have to unroot? How do we update if we are rooted? Also, do the developers of the various ROM's have to re-engineer their ROM's to work with 2.3?

A lot of questions I know, but appreciate the answers so I know what to do if and when a new update comes.

1) if you have a custom rom or theme and/or you've deleted bloatware then yes, you'd have to go back to stock before you can do an OTA. If you're rooted but still have all your bloatware in, you'll be fine.

2) Root users generally get to upgrade before the OTA comes out, however, so you don't generally need to wait.

3) Once the rom is upgraded all custom roms and themes have to follow suit and have to be re-written.

The best thing about BB is the boot up time. I have heard some are under 6 minutes which would be so killer.
