Root 2.37 Downgrade Issues

hmmm formating sd card again and re creating gold card.

i just realized cubz posted in his 100% confirmed guide, you do the adb work before the bootloader.... im going to try that !

was sucsessful im downgraded to 1.3 so radio and s-off so thanks heaps everyone thanks for all the hard work you guys put in.....

now i just may need some help flashing roms

ive installed rom manager and flashed clock mod recovery what now?

i understand you copy the custom rom onto the sd card and then flash it with clock mod ??

the leedriod rom says if your running froyo 2.2 you need to wipe and go to ext 4

what is all of this? ive come so far and dont want to brick now so ill wait for your trusty advice guys!

The EXT4 wipe formats the phones internal partitions to EXT4. Apparently EXT4 is faster and can handle larger file sizes. Think of it as comparing FAT32 to NTFS. If you go for the full EXT4 wipe, you'll need to flash the ROM straight afterwards so make sure the zip file is on your SD Card too.

So the process will be:

Install zip from SD Card -> Select the EXT4 Wipe.zip -> (DON'T REBOOT) Back to Clockworks main menu -> Install Zip from SD Card -> Select the Leedroid.zip file. Let it do it's thing, then reboot.

There are a number of links on the page, the one you're looking for is LeeDrOiD HD V3.3.1 (FTP).

thanks mate awesome !....... And can i choose between different roms such as cm7 after ive gone to EXT4??

Also when i downgraded i copied the contents of my sd card to my hard drive.

after using it for a gold card i formatted my sd card and put the contents back on it

now my apps dont show up in the main apps section on my phone (bottom left of screen all apps)?

is there a way to get my apps back? perhaps when i flash lee driod it will do it ?

The apps are linked to your gmail account so as long as you connect the handset to the same gmail account, they will download themselves again. When you downgraded, you overwrote all the data on your handset.

ROM Manager installs clockwork for you. From within ROM Manager, hit the top option, Flash ClockworkMod Recovery, select the HTC Desire HD in the box which comes up, and it will install the latest CWM (3.0.2.6) for you. Copy the relevant zips to the SD Card, then hit Reboot into Recovery from ROM Manager. This will take you into Clockwork.

Edit - Just seen your new post, there's a clockwork guide here. You need to use the volume buttons to navigate the different options in CWM and the power button is select.

hmmm so copy the lee droid file to the sd card. and then go to clockwork manager flash clock mod and boot from there ? im very confused.....

also seem to be having trouble downloading the ftp link it just comes up with a blank screen on my browser..

and are you sure i dont need the optional ext4 wipe patch ?

thought this was the fun part haha !!!

The Ext 4 wipe isn't mandatory, but recommended. I'd go for it if I were you although I didn't and I'm not noticing any negative effects.

Can't comment on why it's not downloading. Are you just clicking or right clicking and saving as? I presume the latter, but just need to confirm, sorry.

The procedure is this (1-5 can technically be done in any order, but 6-11 must be completed in the correct order):

1. Copy the EXT4 Wipe.zip to the SD Card
2. Copy the Leedriod zip to your SD Card
3. Open ROM Manager
4. Press "Flash Clockwork Mod Recovery"
5. Confirm that 3.0.2.6 is installed (it will say underneath Flash Clockwork Mod Recovery).
6. In ROM Manager select "Reboot into Recovery" Your phone will reboot into CWM (you'll see the below).
7. Using the volume down button, select "Install zip from SD Card"
8. Select the Ext 4 Wipe zip file, then confirm and let it run.
9. DO NOT REBOOT. Navigate back to the main menu again and select "Install zip from SD Card"
10. Select the LeeDroid zip, confirm and let it install the new ROM.
11. Once done, you can now reboot and it will load into LeeDroid.

Be aware first boot can take anything up to 10 minutes.

That make sense? I apologise, I appreciate when you know what you're doing, it's easy to follow brief instructions but when it's the first time doing something, it's better to be thorough so you know what you're letting yourself in for.

Clockwork looks like this btw:

Did you reboot between installs?

Also, regarding the website, try it now. It works fine for me so could've been down when you were trying?

i think i will need to right click haha !

ill get onto it thanks for your help, quick response and detailed descriptions like this have helped me massively in this process. im almost there check back again soon.. :)

The latest LeeDroid 3.3.1 includes the EXT4 wipe in the ROM, so when you choose to install it, your data, system and cache will be formatted as EXT4, then will continue to install the ROM

If you need any more help concerning the LeeDroid ROM, please post in the thread entitled "LeeDroid - experience so far" we all go on there and this thread is for issues with the downgrade guide

By the way, thanks CuBz for all the help you gave.

I've got a well running Desire HD with root, S-OFF, Sense 3.0 and Virtuous Unity.

Thanks a trazillion :D

thankss! i managed to get it already . . now i got another problem . .

after hours and finally getting to the adb part of the installation it tries to open port. . and then tells me device is not found. .

i googled and i thought i needed sdk thingy . . fails still. . now trying to install htc sync and try again

OH MY GOD.. . never have i been so happy to see a hash sign LOL
i realise where i went wrong . . i typed all in the rush . . before they can be
executed i sort of make it jump to the next command thus the rooting didnt work

type in spell check. and wait till c:/Downgrade appears again . :)

currently installing the second image . . im wondering how exactly to s-off to install
custom rom.
must i still use visionary to get temp root then perm root or just perm root? then install custom rom. .
also how do i go about installing the custom rom?

Aye, it's a big relief when it actually works. I'd some problems when I downgraded and when I finally got the #, I was delighted.

Yeah, you need to use Visionary to get temp root, then perm root. Follow this from the Rooting and S-OFF section.

If you look up a few posts to the one with the picture, you'll get a run down of how install a ROM using clockwork and ROM Manager.

cannot open 'Gingerbreak' : no such file or directory. I keep on getting this problem even though I have the gingerbreak file in my downgrade folder. Please I need some help ASAP.

Help. I tired rooting my DHD but the problem is that I always flashed the 2.3.7 softbank rom. I followed all the instructions and at command promt when I type this

adb push GingerBreak /data/local/tmp It just says 'Cannot open 'GingerBreak' : No such file or directory.

It's weird I mean the file is there but it just seems to not work at all. Plus why am I having problems trying to copy, cut or paste the downgrade folder in my computer. I have administration authority but it doesn't seem to work. Please I need help bad I just don't know what to do. Help me ASAP please. Thank you
