2.40 Fresh Rom overclocking kernels

Are their any kernels out there that I can overclock with 2.40 Fresh Rom for the Sprint HTC Hero?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions but once I wipe my dalvik cache from my phone and also install the new kernel do i have to compile it to make it overclock?

I guess I'm just asking is this completely necessary?

No. All you need to do is flash the zip from recovery and you will be up and running. The kernel is already set to the speeds shown. The only thing you might want to do is get an app like setcpu or something to make a cpu profile if you desire.

Ok just got the kernel flashed and stuff and everything is all good and it says 691 MHz on setcpu but when i do a quadrant test i get a score of 233 or something around there and i don't think thats right lol.

Your Quadrant score can be heavily affected by ongoing background processes or other apps multitasking as you run the benchmark. I would reboot your handset and then run the Quadrant benchmark.

Also, set the SetCPU widget to Performance mode. If you have it on On Demand it will yield a lower score because it has to react to the change in CPU demand before upping the MHz dynamically.

That quadrant score is about average for a 2.1 sense rom
