Do they look the same buds you had before? If their the official Ascend buds then I would take it back. They may have given you buds for a different phone model.

no they look different. the new ones are silver. it was the only ones they had and havnt ben able to find ones with a 2.5mm jack anywhere else.

go to Big Lots! if you have one in your area, they have the good ear buds the ones the has the rubber on it, those are perfect and it also comes with an adapter.

I am currently using Jabra BT620s Bluetooth headphones, but I have tried 2 differant 2.5mm headphones and they wont work, the adapter I have doesn't work either, only thing that works is the stock headphones which sould like crap.

If I can get a second pair of the stock headphones I think I might try to mod them and change the drivers to something a little better. Kinda pisses me off that they had to piss around and screw with the standard plug wiring. Its not as if there gonna make money on headphone sales sense they dont make any other than the stock ones that work.

I thought I covered all the bases. One thing I forgot to check was the type of jack the phone requires. I took for granted it was a standard 3.5. why do they have to make things difficult. I got myself a 16 gb microchip and a nice set of Sennheiser CX200 headphones, the ones that came with the phone suck. Not only do they not fit in my ear the sound stinks.

I found this site yesterday so my research began again. So I went to Radio shack today and tried 3 adapters of the same, the male 2.5 was identical to the jack of the factory headphones. but would only play in Mono.So I told the guy I'm sorry to open up 3 of the same item but I'm not paying 10 bucks for something that don't work. He said no problem..So I came back to this thread and found the ebay item from Hi-PC... I got 2 adapters for $1.00 & .99 shipping. so for $1.99, I got 2 of them. If they work great , if they don't at least I didn't blow 10 bucks and only blew 2 bucks.

I'm disappointed with this phone but at least I am not locked into a contract and didn't invest 300 bucks. It's my first smartphone anyway.

thanks for the links to the ebay items from Hi-PC.

You could always try a blutooth headphone set. A little expensive.. But you can use them on multiple devices and I've had good luck with them.

Ok so I have been trying to find an adaptor for this little annoying 2.5mm audio plug in, but only one I found was at raido shack and it didn't work, only played mono. Who has gotten a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor and it works? where can i get it? Not only do i need it for audio head phones, but I need it for square.

I've done a quick search on Amazon and they're pretty cheap. Is that what you're looking for?

yeah thats what i am looking for, i didnt want to get it online, just incase it didnt work like the one i got from raido shack, I was just wondering if anyone else had this same experience and got one that actually worked.

Can't you take it back to the shop? If it doesn't work you should be entitled to a replacement.

I did take it back to raido shack, if I order it online, I just don't want the hassle if it doesn't work. waiting for it to come in, then having to ship it back. I rather pay extra in a store and know that it works.

I found earbuds at Walgreens that came with the adapter and I ordered one from Amazon and both work just fine. This really isn't such a big deal.

Your right it shouldn't be the big of a deal but it is, The one at radio shack didn't work cause it had 3 nudges, not 2. So if radio shack had what I needed then it would of worked fine.

The fact that you even have to buy an adaptor is ridiculous, the lesser model of Huawei M735, has a regular 3.5mm. But there bigger model with andriod on it, like what... they couldn't have fit it in there? its stupid

so don't tell me it isnt a big deal, you got lucky and came with a pair of head phones. No one has the freakin adaptor alone for sale.

Finally ordered it off of amazon after seeing a comment from a acsend user, that it worked with the phone. Still not going to be here till next week. =(

Edit: I saw the ones that came with it, they where 15.99, I just need the adaptor, not junky head phones. that I wont even use.

ear buds at big lots works great and only cost $5 all different colors and types.

yeah, no.. I have a 35 dollar pair of ear buds that ill like to use, and as I stated in my 1st post, I need it for square too. Not just for listening to music.

If you don't know what square is, its a little device that reads credit cards, by sound vibrations. I need it for the business i work for. Anyone with a smart phone can have there own personal CC machine with them =D

I am familiar with Square; I've seen ads for it online.

You can say it's ridiculous but it is what it is. You just have to adapt.

I wonder if it is possible to do a tear down on the phone, desolder the 2.5mm female jack and solder in a 3.5mm jack? It would require a small amount of modificatoin to the chassis but it appears that there is room for that modification.
If that could be done on the cheap that would fix alot of issues with trying to find working STEREO adapters.

yeah... thats way more hassle than its worth 1.50 adaptor online. I was just trying not to go the online route.

i know what square is, and alot of other things...lolz, im a computer tech...

I have absolutely no reason to have Square, but I got it anyway, just so I had the free reader. One day, I'm going to use it. One day...

Hello, new member and an older post but i would just like to add what i did to fix this issue. I just cut off about 2cm of the rubber on the new adapter. I just don't think the aftermarket plugs fit this phone all the way. Btw, my phone wont charge correct after 6 months of use, so buyer beware. Actually, that's how i found this site. Good site here, just a not so good of a phone.
