Root 2 V's with 2 separate issues

If anyone can help with this I would be greatful.
I have two OV's... bought both at same time same store.
Both are running BACKside ROM with update 20120219 done through on phone updater.
Phone 1 problem (Mine)---> At night I set alarm to wake up in morning, plug it in to charger. Alarm goes off in morning, hit snooze one or two times, then dismiss alarm. Problem is after that I have wallpaper visible but, no lock screen keys. Reboot, then it's fine.

Phone 2 problem (Wife's)---> When using the camera, after exiting out to home screen. The controls for the camera are still at the bottom covering the dock bar. push camera key on side and exit again, it goes away.

Yes, I know what your thinking, they are not major problems just deal with it. It is more of a P.I.T.A. after having to do it everyday.

Anyone else have anything like this happen or know how to fix it?

Thanks, and sorry for the long read.;)

This is an issue caused by the screen rotation animations we backported from ICS.

The workaround till we either fix it or remove it altogether is to turn off ICS rotation animations:

Settings>>CyangoenMod settings>>Display>>ICS rotation animation (uncheck, then reboot) ;)

A: A P.I.T.A. is a P.I.T.A.:D We like to help folks get rid of them so they can enjoy their phones.:)

B: Work your way around here, you'll find that I often write essays for my posts:o

OK, now onto your questions.

I do not know much about the Backside, these may be quirks with that rom. I'll try do address them anyway.

Phone 1: have you tried hitting the home button, the phone may be stuck somewhere between awake and locked. Also, what alarm clock app are you using?

Phone 2: how are you getting from the camera to the home screen when the issue arises? You mentioned you have to exit to get them to go away.

Jerry, is your reply for both issues?

Pupkact, I tried all the buttons, only one the works is power/lock for alarm issue. Camera issue by exit I mean home or back hard keys. If you go back in and exit again its all good.

OK, I'll wait for Jerry to reply as well before I jump back in unless you can figure out which issue that addresses on your own. Just post back here and I'll see it.:)

Should fix both issues, but it is a bug, so please report back here with how it works for you. ;)

Note- I just added the options to settings in the 0219 build. So far reports are that unchecking that settings fixes the issue (has for me).

:rolleyes:Okay, update on problems. Phone1 Alarm screen freeze. I do believe is resolved. Followed Jerry's instructions and turned off ICS screen animation. I also found this after my post that I did not see before posting. (http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-all-things-root/497018-problem-backside-02062012-a.html). Oddly,10mins before finding that I flashed the new QuickSilver theme. I did not have GreenMachine on either phone, but something fixed mine, so far.

Phone 2. Also turned off ICS animation. Camera fixed but other things still freeze, which the wife didn't say did before . The Dock Bar also disappears after unlock. Need reboot to fix that.

Is it possible that phone 2 needs a fresh reflash, or is there something to the changing the theme?

You could always flash the 01312012 build of BACKside. It's problem free. It just doesn't have as much added goodies. The added goodies seem to be messing with you phone though.

Would it not affect both phone in the same way. Bought both the same day at the same store. both have same screen (although I can't remember which one).
I will try to reflash with updated fresh and if that does not fix will try the older version as you said.

Another question, are there any apps that are known to cause issue such as this? can post her app list if needed

Not all "V's" processor's are perfect, it would appear that one is a little more perfect than the other. The other thing is the different installed apps affect things differently as well.

That is why one owner can jack his processor up to 864MHz with no problems and another owner can only go to 746MHz.

Downgrade to the 01312012 build set everything up just as you like it, with all your apps just where you want them. Make sure you don't have the CPU speed set to "set on boot". Go into your recovery and make a backup.

Now you have a good solid build as a base and a backup to fall back on. If you run into a build that doesn't work with your processor delete and install your good backup.

Also before deleting a build try to fix permissions first, move suspect app to system, etc.

Well, I tried fixing permissions and I am not sure what happened. Everything was all screwed up. It took an hour or so to finish that. Half the hard keys didn't work and all the most apps forced closed.
Anyway, ended up wiping out whole thing any doing a fresh install with 02192012 with new quicksilver theme. I was not sure where or how to get 01312012 as you suggested, I may have it on my computer somewhere. Only installed Facebook, WellsFargo, and maybe two other apps, I will see if this works and if not then I try to find backdated Rom.

JerryScript has been leaving the links for the builds in the pages of the thread just before he puts a new build up front on the first page.

Go to 31 January in his thread and look through the posts. There it will be complete with the md5 sum.
