2021 NFL Football season

I'm not sure about the Bills. New England forgot their defense back in Foxborough. And the defense that did make it to the game forgot that they could, in fact, tackle the quarterback scrambling on 3rd and long.

I hope that you are right, naturally. However, I have a lot of respect for the Pats.. even without Brady. Watching that game left me thinking the Bills are on a mission and it will take a near perfect game to dash their run to the big game.

Even though he's not a Patriot anymore, you have to appreciate greatness. Since most of Brady's career stats are so far out of reach, they start tracking new ones. This one is a doosy.

I've never been a Brady fan.. mostly because he was a foe. I do admire him for his skills and his longevity. He deserves all of the accolades that are bestowed upon him. He is great, had a great career, and has been a great role model for all to aspire to play or live at such a high level. That's three greats that I can think of no other NFL player I can hang those on. He has earned my utmost respect and I'm glad that I have lived during his domination. He is the game that all should admire.

I'm glad to see the power teams changing hands. No different than the Chiefs having return visits to the SB, it is all good to see other teams have a run. It's good for the franchises and good for the sport.
Everyone enjoys a dominant team that stays on top for a number of years but then they start rooting for the underdogs. It's time for another team to enjoy their time in the sun. As much as I hate to admit it, Buffalo is that underdog team this year out of the AFC. It's been near 30 years since they last appeared in the SB and they have never won it.

I've always had a soft spot for the Bills and their fans. I think it goes back to me late teen years when they were making their run and never able to get over the hump.

A note to wide receivers: When the pass hits you in both hands, it is your job to catch the ball. If you can't manage that, do not deflect the ball high into the air for you opponent to catch. This can result in a game winning score.

Poor Tennessee.

i'm so happy that the Niner's won. i am very disappointed in rogers for his off the field decisions that i lost all respect for him. if the Rams can now win against Brady and company, they will play against SF which i think will be a much better game vs playing against rodgers......but they have to beat Brady first today.

GO RAMS!!!!!

It's been a crazy year and the playoffs are no different. I suppose it has happed but I can't recall a post season where both #1s lost on their opening weekend. My bracket is smoked lol. I had GB winning it all. :)
Both games yesterday were fun to watch. Close and competitive.
When games are close just about anything can happen.... and did.

That was a crazy finish to the Rams game. They should have that one wrapped up much earlier. You can never count Brady out until it is over. I think they let the foot off the gas a bit in the 2nd half.

So far this last round of playoff games have been great. I would like to see the Chiefs win the next game.

I will admit to rooting against TB. Brady magic fell a little short. I thought the Rams had it in the bag most of the game. But you are quite right, you can't leave the door open for Tom for he'll storm right in.

The Chiefs Bills game was incredible. I'd say that if Bills had won the OT toss they would have ultimately won the game. Both teams played flawless football.

Allen was 27 for 37 329 yards 4 TDs. Mahomes was 33 for 44 378 yards 3 TDs. Game stats saw 53 first downs, five for five 4th downs, 974 yards offense, no turn overs, and only 4 penalties. That's near flawless football by both teams!

I hate to see the Bills go home. They are better than most still standing. I'm elated the Chiefs won naturally though I was willing to accept the loss. The Bills are good! I thought their D might slow the Chiefs O enough to win that game. They played well but allowing a 13 second drive to take it into OT did not look like shut down defense. The Chiefs D looked about as I expected against Allen... fair but not great.

Reading up on the weekend playoffs we were treated to some entertaining close games. It is common for this weekend to be one of the most competitive weekends in football and that it was. The only sour note is the NFL overtime rule of first TD ending the game. I've won and lost good games by the rule and just don't like it. It simply isn't fair. There is more than a fair amount of static about the Chiefs' OT victory being voiced and I expect more to come. It's not that the fan base is upset that the Chiefs won and neither am I. But it just is not right to lose a game without a chance of rebuttal. The Bills explosive offense watched as the Chiefs scored to get into OT and then watched the Chiefs score the winning TD.

Then I copied this from the net... Posted minutes ago:

The current rule was first implemented in the 2010 playoffs, but was extended to regular season games in 2012. Under these rules, there have been a total of 118 overtime games. This includes regular season and playoffs, and includes yesterday's games.

  • Wins by team that possesses the ball first: 59 (50%)
    • Of these wins, 23 were on an opening drive TD (39.0% of team with first possession wins, 19.5% overall overtime games)
  • Wins by team that possesses the ball second: 52 (44.1%)
  • Ties: 7 (5.9%)
Taking all of this information together, it would seem to suggest that the current NFL rules are actually fairly balanced in terms of giving teams an equal shot to win. Opening drive TDs have ended less than 20% of overtime games, which means that in over 80% of overtime games, both teams had a shot with the ball.

It still seems less than fair to me. Ask the Bills if they think it's fair.

Overtime rules. I want coaches and player selling out in OT for the WIN. I get tired of watching conservative playcalling playinf for OT then whining about the rules. Go for two and the win instead of the extra point to get to overtime. My opinion.

I really don't have a horse in the game anymore, so I'll just watch for entertainment.

i totally agree. the Buffalo fans don't like the rules for OT as well.....i guarantee you that. interesting on the stats though.
Let the games begin! I'm very nervous. Go Chiefs!
chiefs look in control in the 1st half. let see how they come out in the 2nd half.

i want the chiefs to win, but i want a close exciting game. so i am rooting for the bengals to come back and make this a game......lol

OMG!!!!!!! now that is a much better half by both teams.....going to OT!!!!!!!!

Chiefs won the toss...........what a crazy year for football.

wow really did not see that coming. that was a terrible throw from Maholmes!!!!!

i still hate OT rules.

now GO RAMS.......even though i'm not a Rams fan......but it is LA so i'll root for them.

The Chiefs left their MOJO in the first half. They could not make anything work in the second. I do think that CIN played a better defense in the second but dropped passes and we've got this attitude will not win games. I'm almost glad that KC lost in OT after winning the toss. Two weeks in a row would be a bit much on the lucky side for anyone's liking.

That was a good game. It was hard fought and remained close the entire game. I thought the Rams deserved to win. That no call facemask TD convinced me of that. And winning the game having to play without Odell showed how badly they wanted to win. Congrats LA Rams!
