30 days approaching, who's returning

Mine is going back! Poor sound quality, unreliable GPS and no LED notification for missed calls and text. I have high hope for the Droid X.

The Droid X is a fantastic phone, especially rooted and tweaked a bit. It's a tad on the bulky side, but exceptionally solid hardware. Especially in the call quality and reception department.

I love this phone...I really do! However I had signal issues all day today. And my internet connections has been suspect since last night. I will see how things go tomorrow with it.

I was really skeptical when first got it...Heard all about poor support and quality, but mine has been absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!! Call quality is super...battery life is awesome...no hardware issues...voodoo and other goodies coming!!!!!!!! What can be better?

Well, its a sad day. I have officially returned my SF. Overall a great device, just not a very good phone and GPS continues to be completely broken. Sad indeed.

Were you able to try a different phone at all? Return it and get another? I have a few issues with mine, more software than hardware that I am trying to work out. I enjoy this phone alot.

What did you go back to?

Actually I am back to my Alias. X is to big. Incredible is nice but I have heard bad things about batter life, a priority for me. I'm patient. The Fascinate is close to what I want/need to be in the smartphone market. There are new phones coming out constantly and they are only getting better.

Sad panda. It's disappointing that experiences are so varied. I'm still happily rocking my fascinate, and it continues to do great at pretty much everything. I feel bad for those that are having a less than stellar experience with this phone. It has so much potential.

Yea. I am returning the Fascinate for either the Incredible or the iPhone 4 (AT&T actually has extremely good coverage where I live). Calling comes first. I don't care about the screen or all the features that the phone has, if it doesn't make crisp calls it's not for me. I went to the Verizon store today and called my friend (who has T-Mobile) on my Fascinate and had a basic conversation and then I called on the Incredible and had the same conversation. My friend said that the Incredible sounded sooo much better.

I went to the AT&T store across the street and call a different friend (who is on Verizon) on my Fascinate then the iPhone 4. And she said that the iPhone 4 was so much better, and that my voice was coming through crystal clear on the iPhone 4 and it sounded slightly muffled on my Fascinate.

So I'm at a fork in the road. The Incredible would have been the easy choice because I love Sense, but the sound quality for the HD camcorder is ass.

I returned mine today and picked up the X...

Not anything wrong with the SF I just missed the larger 4.3 screen I had on the EVO...

My 1st impressions is that the SF is a better overall device... I do like the X and if the SF had a 4.3 screen it would have been a no brainer for me...

i still can't decide between keeping the SF or getting the X, i like my SF but the scratchy echoy feedback from the earpiece is annoying. But my SF seems to lag a lil bit, all the stupid factory apps that are constantly running bug me too. Can you get rid of the factory apps you dont use? I'm thinking the the droid might be better because of the bigger internal memory. But I dont know a lot about phones

scratchy echoey feedback? that doesn't sound good... :( what do you think is causing that?

is that a common problem with these phones?

What is the last day to return if you bought on Sept 9th? BTW, anyone able to get a different phone without the $35 fee? I don't think it's right for them to charge the $35 if the phone continues to be broken (I am on my 3rd one)

Yes, I've had this problem on all of my Fascinates. On my 3rd one, it got better after doing an update via *228. Don't know why that would be the case, but it's definitely less annoying than it was

Call quality is making me want to go back to my Droid X. Voices go in and out frequently, and it is not because of who I am calling. I was speaking to my mother on her home phone land line and her voice still went out as if I didn't have reception. When I call my girlfriend, who has a Droid X, her voice sounds muffled and I constantly have to ask her to repeat herself. Not to mention the abysmal signal strength I get in my apartment and when I am in most buildings. It makes calls, web browsing, app downloading and pretty much everything I do on the phone slow.

The only reason I didn't trade it sooner was the screen and how well it performs in the sunlight. That is a MAJOR thing for me because I am always walking to and from classes and then back to my apartment. I like to use the music player and text while I walk, so being able to see the phone's screen in direct sunlight is a necessity for me.

Wow. Just had a dropped call on the Fascinate. I tried to call the caller back and the call failed. The phone's reception is assbutt.

Seriously. EXCHANGE. You're one of the coolest cats on here, man ... been watching your posts. Go in and get you a new one! I am in a basement where tend I drop an occasional call with every phone I've ever owned....

EXCEPT the Fascinate. I would at least give the Fascinate a second chance with a new model. I have not dropped a call yet in my basement. There is an underpass between towns that I commute often. With the Omnia, Eris, and even my old Razr V3m I drop about 50% of my calls when I go under it. Haven't dropped a call there yet with the Fascinate. Bluetooth performance is stellar. I don't get any weird echo unless my phone is just turned up way too loud, and I'll turn it down because it's probably loud enough to be hurting my ear. Then, no more echo.

Used the GPS again, and still no issues. It locks on typically within one minute, which is faster than my WAAS enabled Garmin has EVER been. Sometimes it locks on in seconds.

Seriously. Make Verizon get you an actual working Fascinate before you give up on it.

I did exchange. I went to Verizon and they gave me a brand new one, and it is having the exact same problems. It is only the reception that I am having a problem with, and it is not just in my apartment. I was outside calling my mother's home phone and her voice was cutting in and out. I was astonished.

This phone actually screwed me over at the WORST possible time when I had that dropped call earlier. I was in a heated argument/fight with my girlfriend (probably soon-to-be ex girlfriend after this shit) when the call dropped. So naturally, she thinks I hung up on her. I tried to call her back, but the call failed. I had to move around my apartment to get a signal, but by then she was ignoring my calls. There is no way she will believe that it was a dropped call especially now that I am on Verizon. If this was two months ago, when I still had the iPhone 3G on AT&T, she might have believed it. However, this is Verizon and this is a brand new phone.

I am ****ED....lmao

Man, I feel bad for you ... Third time's a charm?? While it is statistically quite unlikely to receive two brand new defective devices, it's not impossible! I guess you just have to decide if it's worth the hassle.

I can tell you, if you get one that works, it's really a great phone!! I promise I'm not making up my stories of success anymore than you are of your troubles. And I also am not just so giddy with the Fascinate because the Eris sucked so much. I'm comparing my experience with the Droid X and my short testing of the Droid Incredible in this mix, too, and I certainly view the Fascinate as a true contender in the top tier.

Edit:

To Drew, This just in!

I like how the title states "Report: Verizon iPhone a Done Deal" but still shows now actual proof or confirmation from anyone officially "official" that it really is a done deal. Just an accumulation of sources that continue to indicate that it's a done deal. People have been indicating a Verizon iPhone "just around the corner" since it first came out with AT&T!!

Maybe it will happen for real this time. I'm finally happy with my Fascinate. I won't be switching. I actually like the lightweightness of the Fascinate. And the screen is definitely more viewable in the sun than the iPhone 4. And I LOVE live wallpapers ... oh yeah and ... hahaha. The list goes on and on and on.

My wife's is going back...to be replaced with another Fascinate. Hers is buggy in that it won't update, other than that we're both extremely pleased.

Dropped it off at fed ex yesterday morning after activating my droid x. Call quality and the gps issues are too important to me than a petty screen..

Fair enough....I wonder if you left an "r" out of petty? Either way as long as you're content and have a device that works how you want it too.

Oops.. I meant petty.. I didn't like hearing myself and the wind or any back ground noise.. The x has made me very happy.
