no i know that, i just meant i feel like someone somewhere in this thread stated to overcharge it the first time... maybe i misread something because i cant find it again, but anyway im too impatient, i gotta pop it in, haha

Thanks to the posts in here I went ahead and ordered a 2000 mah battery from Obostore. Was considering the 3000 from ebay but wanted to keep using all the cases I have for my Evo. Especially the new black battery cover I just put on my white Evo, it is SO sexy like that!! Wish I would have done it sooner. I'll post my thoughts after using it for a few days.

I bought a charger from the same seller, how would I know when its charged? Its blue when there is no battery and purple when the battery is on it.

You can't over charge the battery, you could leave it on the charger for 10 years and it won't make any difference. The battery has charge protection in it. When it's done it's done.

After reading the several posts, I was convinced that i should try one of these batteries out.

On a different note, what is that app running in the top left corner? Is that a themed (manup theme) batter indicator app? If so, where can I find it?

After reading all of the helpful post I decided to go for the Ebay battery on 8/24. For 11 bucks not a big loss if it doesn't work. I got my battery yesterday and I live in SoCal so the shipping time was better than expected.
First let me say that the battery door does look pretty nice. It doesn't fit as snug as the stock but is acceptable. There seems to be a slight gap (not enough to see the red inside of the phone) at the bottom. If I push on the door down by the kickstand I can see there is some play in it, not really a big deal to me but may be to some others.
I tested the camera right away, since I saw some people complained of a flash reflection on the Sedio back, no such issue with this one, the pictures looked fine.
I had a case on my stock back just to protect the camera, but with this back there is no need which is kind of nice.
I didn't get an external charger so I charged it up in the phone last night and experienced the same quick drop off that most people have seen. I am going to try some of the tricks listed in here to see if things get better after a few cycles. I can say that while it dropped quickly from 100 to about 88%. It has been holding fairly strong in the 80's, even without trying to calibrate it.
I just turned on GPS, 4G, and turned off Wi-Fi to see how long it will take to get this battery down to the red zone.
I use this phone for work so I would classify myself as a medium user. I wish I would have bothered to keep some stats on the stock battery for comparison, but I do know that I usually unplug at 6am and by 3pm or so I am usually down to 20% or less.
I will try to update as often as its its relevant. My phone is pretty much stock so hopefully my numbers will help other non-techies like me.

I let the battery get down to 10% and then charged it with the phone off overnight. As of right now I am at

10hrs 45min since unplugged
System 27%
Standby 25%
Idle 18%
wi-fi 10%
Display 10%
voice 5%
maps 3%
Google goggles 2%

also played "Angry Birds" for about 30min to kill some time. I have to say that my stock battery would have been dead long ago. I am going to let the battery get as low as possible before charging again. I will charge with the phone off one more time and they go to a regular use and charge pattern.

and still have 37% left. I had prettty normal usage today: text

Thats weatherbug.....Its was a hot day:o

I bought the eBay batteries the 3000mah ones and I took a chance and ordered the seido holster the one that they make to hold the phone with no case and to my delight it fits perfectly!
I also have the seido wall charger and have been alternating the batteries and I must say they hold more charge with every charge.

can you post a pic?

So is the battery door for the 3500 batteries on ebay different than the battery doors for the 3000 batteries on ebay? I bought a 2000mah battery from obostore a couple days ago, but I think I will also get either a 3000mah or 3500mah battery from ebay as well just to have for days when I'll be out and away from my chargers. Either gonna go with the 3000mah from the seller in post #1, or go with a 3500mah battery that you guys reccomend. After reading through this entire thread, I dont think anyone has reviewed a ebay 3500 have they? Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure the 2600, 2700, 3000, and 3500 mah are the same batteries, just with different labels.

If this Chinese battery turns out to be working...12 Bucks for a 3000mah is much more cost efficient then paying 70bucks for 3500mah...Just so it can say Seidio on it...Because i love the fact how people are saying the chinese battery are bad quality when 98% of our Products Nowadays are made in china....I bet the Seidio one is also

I have a Seidio 1750 mAh- which paid $39 on Amazon- seems to go the same route as the OEM 1500 mAh HTC battery.

By the way, Seidio battery on the back states it is assembled in Taiwan- all in the same places...

Looking into maybe doing what you did- getting the Seidio holster- non case one and the 3000mah battery too.

Seidio holster are pretty expensive on ebay. Some charging even $4.50 for SH. The cheapest i found was for $22.89 plus $1.99 SH.

Seidio HTC EVO 4G Spring-Clip Holster NEW - eBay (item 150478691811 end time Sep-09-10 18:27:06 PDT)

But then I found a cheaper one on Amazon for $19.99 plus $1.18 SH

Thanks for sharing... if you can post a pic...

The seidio 3500mah battery is much much better than the chinese batteries. I have two of the 3000mah chinese batteries and neither of them even come close to the life of my seidio 3500mah battery. Its more expensive but If your looking for a battery that will allow you to stop looking for an outlet like its your next fix get the seidio

I got ripped off with Seidio's 1750 which paid $39 on Amazon. At first, looks promising. At around week 2, it gets worst. I have a generic Galileo ($9) brand I got off ebay (claims 1800mah), holds a better charge than Seidio.

Last night I ordered a 3000mah battery, extended battery door, external charger, retractable data sync cable, and car charger for $15.97 from the seller that the OP bought is from. Gonna use it for days I'm away from my wall charger and car charger, and use the 2000mah Andida battery I bought from Obostore for daily use(which should be arriving this week or the first of next week). I'll be sure to post my results for both once I receive them.

Yeah I bought the Andida too but it's currently sitting in the external charger for testing tomorrow. Hoping it is more than 1500 mah because I'm currently using a phone holster/wallet that requires the stock size.

The ones from ebay seller, shoppinghome99, were only slightly better than the oem battery.

Ironically, the bait and switch battery from overstock.com actually performs pretty well.

Not sure if the Lithium Polymer makes any difference.

In the end, I went back to the oem battery so I could use my case for the added protection. Felt very vulnerable with my evo naked with the extended battery.
