just an FYI, I ordered the Arkon universal car mount and works fine with the extended cover for the 3000ma Chinese battery. I never had a vent mount unit before so I was a little hesitant because I thought the unit as a whole looked bulky, but it actually looked good once installed. I plan on using the vent mount in my car and the suction cup for travel. Not too bad for 15 bucks.

Oh, and I also get a way better charge out of the battery (using the phone) when the phone is turned off. I have been using "Juice plotter" to do some comparisons and there is a definite difference

Can i be honest for a second? I know i'm being picky, and I know i'm being OCD, but I just have a problem with the red showing through on the back, and I also have a problem with the fact that the sides are not even and you see into the phone and you see little gaps. It's not just the picture i saw above, but I've seen them in the D-Inc forum and in this eVo forum. I feel like the mold is there, and it's good, but it's just not as perfect as the original back from HTC (which is no surprise because OEM casebacks will always fit their intended product over a chinese plastic mold).

Have you guys found that just as annoying as me, that the backs don't actually fit the phone and there is some space/gaps in there? or am i being too picky.

i just got mine yesterday, i live in chicago and it took 7 days on the dot. Ive never had something come in so quick from so far away...im not sure what the 'correct' way to calibrate it is but i used the phone when i first got it, worked the battery down to dead got it home and charged it, took it off charge/turned it on/plugged it in.....etc until i got 100% ......this morning i took it off charge at 7:20am its 8am now and im at eighty two % with heavy streaming texting streaming etc...im sure i will use it off and on from now until the end of the day...not really expecting much out of the first charge but should i let it go all the way down then charge it up for a couple cycles or what?

Since these batteries are Li-Ion and not Li-Polymer, I would run them down a few cycles, and then charge to full a few times before expecting better use. Don't forget you could get a lemon, and only half of the cells could be active in that battery, so if you don't see an increase in life, make sure to email the ebay seller asap to get a replacement. They get them for .02 cents, they will replace yours if you have an issue without a problem.

No and Yes . . . . . . and that's OK. . . .we're all OCD about something!:D

Just a minor "Oh by the way". . . these are single cell batteries. :o

-Yeah the Andida is a disappointment but I expected as much. I previously stated that this is probably the same battery as the Touch Pro 2 Andida, which was rated @ 1100-1200 mah by Batteryboss.

-That Arkon universal is what I use too (I use the older version, with flex neck, which I would not recommend since solid necks make for less oscillations during driving.

-Yep, the battery back is indeed not perfect and is slightly cracked along the bottom left and bottom right. I previously stated that I wonder if the portion under the headphone connector is somehow pushing the battery cover in such a way that it juts out. Haven't had time to try sanding it down a bit. Found it annoying in the beginning too, but now I just don't notice it.

-Indeed the phone does charge better in OFF mode. Sadly, this is not an option for those using the phone as an alarm.

thanks for the heads up. Do you mean that they will not work bettey as they go through a few cycles? or do you mean they arent even Li-Ion batteries?

I know the ebay ones don't go through quality control, but sometimes we get lucky and get good ones, and other times we get duds :(

It thought it was going to bug me, but in the end the extra battery life is worth it to me. I travel a lot and use my phone to watch movies during a flight. I hated my battery being dead when I hit the ground.

Yeah i guess you're right. it's a fair trade off. 3x the battery (or 2.5x the battery) for a decent fitting rear door. I accept the fact that it wont be perfect and there will be some areas that do not stay shut (or clicked in), but on some of the pics it looks like the battery door wasnt clicked in at all, and you were able to see the red right underneath. That means the door has the potential to fall off easier as well, one drop and the door and battery will pop out easier too.

I wish they sold bumpers for all phones evo/incredible like they did with the iPhone, that was honestly a great type of case style. I still havent found a bumper/case like the one apple provides. If they had a standard OEM bumper case like apple does, we'd be able to modify it and place the bumper around the sides of the phone and cut the back piece out .but no such luck .

Well my 3000mAh died tonight :( Wouldn't take any charge so I'm back on the stock battery. I may may just buy an OEM TP2 battery to carry around as a backup.

Damn really? How long did u have it? Did u try charging In phone or 3rd party charger? I haven't seen it but I heard that droid phones will alert the user If the battery life has truly depleted and will not take a charge. It must know that the power that it's sending to the battery is getting kicked back due to dead cells, again, just something I heard/read

got my yoobao 3000mah battery too, very nice product. I will mark down this brand. If i need batteries for other models in the future, it would be my first option.

Besides, i also bought a leather case from them. Also great and high quality product, considering the low price

Actually neither, even a single cell battery can see improvement with a couple of charge cycles. It's just that there's a higher likelihood of the battery being good because there's only one cell in the battery and not multiple cells which increase the possibility of the battery going bad because of one of many cells not working. Hopefully that made sense. :o

From obostore? If so, which leather car did you get? I have a HTC leather pouch with belt clip, but looking at also getting the one from obostore that opens like a book. Also has a snap closure and a couple spots for extra sd cards.

for those that got the car charger cord bundled with it...anyone notice this? it doesnt seem to have a good snug fit on my evo when i have it plugged in and the phone on my car mount...it stays in but will drop far enough to make it where it wont charge.

Not a big deal to me, i didnt buy the battery for the charger, but wish it worked better

i have that one and am using it currently. let me snap a few pics.. works well but isn't perfect. i put a review up on obostore. of course though, you won't be able to use the extended battery.

-camera/speaker/led doesn't line up perfectly, but it doesn't hinder the camera.
-can be a little tight with more than 2 credit cards and an ID in the inner pocket
-top drop down notification bar can be hard to use because the phone may slide up in the pocket
-microphone hole might get blocked, but hasn't happened to me
-scratched the leather a few times on accident, didn't leave marks
-overall convenient if you like to carry less in your pockets like me

I had it for almost a month. Always charged it in my phone.

My stock battery actually isn't that bad since I'm rooted now and running a custom ROM/kernel.

Ok I tested my 3500 today. Is 11 hours good? Here's a break down of the activity on the phone:
navigation for about 2 hours & light to moderate use of internet. No radios on when not navigating. The battery was charged in a 3rd party charger out of the phone. Does 11 hours sound right?

Yeah thats about right . 2 hours of NAV for me would knock me down 60% of my battery usage just using navigation alone. That means if you didnt use NAV, you'd prob get 24 hours out of it.

Got my 3000 battery today from ebay after monitoring this thread for weeks. I have it in my included external charger. It's been on for about 6 hours and the light is still purple. That seems longer for the initial charge than most experiences in this thread. And can the stock battery be charged in the external charger included with that ebay bundle?

UPDATE: It finally went to blue on the external charger. I immediately put it in the evo, booted to recovery, wiped battery stats, rebooted, and it reads fully charged in the phone. The battery cover fits very nicely. I don't see any bleed-through of the red on the sides of mine. The thickness won't bother me at all.

What ebay seller did you buy from? How long did shipping take? Pics? All that would be helpful for this thread...
