Root .340 system sbf is now available online here:

currently i'm on 2.2, factory rooted rom with 928blkglass deodexed them installed. Which would be a better way for me to get to the official 2.2.1?

1. OTA
2. or just use RSD lite and throw this new SBF on?

thx in advance.

This SBF is a system only SBF for people on 2.3.320, just to get their system to .340. You would either need to get the OTA, or get the leaked update to 2.3.320 and then do this system SBF to get you to .340. I think there is away that you could use the 2.3.320 SBF that was also out and then do this SBF as well.

ok that makes sense actually so i'll probably just OTA. I just haven't been in a hurry to upgrade cause i like to see what the update breaks first. thanks

No problem, I am not going to jump to .340 until this weekend when some of the new ROM's come up because I am happy where I am at and I was able to get Madden up and running so there is no point for me. Just don't want anyone to mess up their phones before the holidays!

so if you are deOdexed, you can straight download the update? i'm guessing i'll then have to reroot and deodex again? whats the best way to do this? i'm confussed...

i'm assuming you would do it the same way you did before, Root using Z4, and apply the theme you want that works with the new build.

I bought the TBH app, couldn't I use the sbf available on it to get up to 2.3.320? Then the link above to get 2.3.340? Or I could just wait for the OTA...

Out of curiosity, can this be installed from root of card using stock recovery?

I know 5 people with X's w/o even root, let alone CW Recovery.

EDIT. Never mind. Yes it can.

On the instructions at Droid Life it states if you have modified any bloatware you are out of luck. What does that mean? I am rooted and I removed some bloatware such as CityID, Blockbuster. Is that considered modified bloatware

ooops i tried installin the .340 over my .320 and the installation hung and when i pulled the battery i bootlooped (any ideas or help?)

thats what i get for doing this all in a rush while the end of my day at work

yes
nm .....lol just saw the date on your post

Hmmm. I have 2.3.15.MB810 with Revolution installed as my Rom and them themed. But what I can't figure out, as Droidworld and people here are saying conflicting things, if I had the OTA 2.2 then flashed to Revolution (which removed some of the bloatware), if I can now just do the update.zip method or if I have to SBF backward to come back up to 2.2.340.

If anyone has ideas, I'd appreciate it, cheers!

if you are still on 2.3.15 and possibly have a backup you made right after you rooted but before you installed rubix then restore it and take the ota and you will be good....if you dont have the backup you can flash the 2.2 sbf and then take the ota ....if you need the sbf here it is with instructions
Droid X 2.2 Full SBF leaked - Download now

Ok this may be dumb .... I have already accepted the ota to .340. Can I download and save this release as a backup to get back any changes. I mean ... I see it says to go from .320 to .340. But if I already have .340 can I mess it up by running it if I make changes ???? Thanks
