360 Slim

I put up some links since it seems there is bit hmm still about it. To be frank, as I said: The new x360 slim is very welcome change into the xbox community, heck - even for the console people. It will always be wars between what is best, but I think its healthy for all consoles that xbox360 does changes like this. :)

It's the misinformation more than anything....

But lets not pretend this is ANYTHING like what Sony did with the PS3 Slim last year, this is just the same old crap in a slightly smaller box, still the power brick to hide somwhere, still the last-gen and noisy DVD drive, still the peripheral lock-down to only overpriced Microsoft branded versions, still the overpriced and underdeliering Xbox-Live service, still the same advert-filled dashboard, still the same batteries for the controler etc etc etc....

It might have a slightly quieter fan and Wifi, both of which any properly engineered product should have had from the outset, not 5 years in. nothing else has really changed.

I assume Microsoft figured after 5 years, they can sell the same crap all over again to the same people and nobody will blink an eyelid. Perhaps people need to think about how many Xboxes they have actually bought and rebought since 2005. I know plenty of people on their 3rd BOUGHT console (not talking about RROD here), 2nd repurchased after Microsoft stiffed them over HDMI, the 3rd version all over again now.

About the second article, it is common sense: You don't move your xbox 360 while playing. It is the same thing as saying, you don't open a milkshake upside down even though you shake it upside down.

But if you feel you need to go anti xbox 360, create another thread and state whats on your mind. I would love to see your thinking and thoughts on things there, but as long as its kept off-topic here. I don't see room for your posts, I'm happy you're stating the obvious though.

I personally own 3 xbox 360's. There are at least 7 in my household total. We also own a PS3 and a Wii (that never get used). What's your point? The point is that I chose to buy the product fully understanding that there was a very high failure rate attached to it. At the end of the day it is always going to be MY choice and not yours. Stop trying to stuff your opinion down everyone elses throat just because you had a bad experience with the 360 doesn't mean the rest of the world/forum/etc.. will as well.

I truly enjoy playing my 360 whenever I get the chance to. As I always have stated, it's all about preference. You prefer PS3 and I prefer 360. End of story.
 
Cheers and frankly, if you were to watch comparison videos (not on youtube) with xbox 360 and ps3. You dont see much difference, there is some slight here and there where one of them is just slight better, but its so magnial.

Again, it's the eye of the beholder. I must admit I have been "lucky" with my xbox 360. I have have 2 xboxes and one of them are from 2006. I still haven't had problems with it nor any faulties. Even if I did get a problem with it, I would just send it in and get a new one.

Same goes for my ps3 as well.

To quote Hitman again: Stop trying to stuff your opinion down everyone elses throat just because you had a bad experience with the 360 doesn't mean the rest of the world/forum/etc.. will as well.

If you have a need to have ps3 vs xbox360, create a thread for it instead of venting it out here. :)

Errm, this is a 360 Slim Discussion thread. Which is what I was discussing....

Are we only allowed to discuss nice things, and sweep the nasty things under the carpet?

MODS: Can you change the title please to the "360 Slim Rose Tintend Glassed Thread" please, as clearly thats what some people would prefer it would become....

No, you just are extremely annoying. What nasty things have been swept under the carpet? Time and time again we all come together and admit that the 360 isn't perfect but it's what we prefer yet you continue on with your asinine fanboyism. You clearly don't see the point any of us are trying to make. Come talk to us when you get a little bit of sense (and I'm not talking about HTC's intricate UI).
 
Mgillespie, it is indeed a 360 slim dicussion thread. It's how you go about it, I don't mind talking about xbox 360 problems. It's how you convoy everything that is about the xbox 360 slim that is just trash which triggers me. Since you have proven two things:

A) You can't discuss, you force your own opinions down our throats.
B) You don't understand what we are saying. Stop posting in this thread with that sense and come back when you understand what we're saying.

I can't stress this enough, make another thread for your concern.

Back on topic:

Why I think also 360 slim version stimulates the need. Most hardcore games use cable when gaming, but I think its about time wireless got into it. It is a upgrade and special with most internet routers in Norway nowdays is turning towards the "n"

To be honest I never really cared to much about the noise, but I do welcome its noise reduction. Since usual when I play, I play with my headset - so I dont hear the noise from x360. >_>;

The case design is very high tech and looks appealing in many ways, you don't need to "hide" it away when having guests like I do with almost all hardware. While I'm very sensible with making the cables invicble. So you can't see the cables laying around.

I like how the borrowed the PS3 slim idea with CPU and cooling there, in many ways this a genius move from Microsoft. They refreshed the xbox 360 which was very much needed, they listened to the lesser hardcore people with wireless + noise reduction. Best of all, no change of price + you dont need to spend 700 NOK (about ish 70 pounds/120 USD on a wireless adapter).

Clearly discussing the disc-scratching problems that persist in the Slim is not allowed by YOUR rules, nor is the power brick that still exists. Disc noise is not talked about, and we can't discuss how putting the same lousy electronics in a smaller box with slower running fans won't INCREASE RROD frequency rather than reduce it.

And those Xbox stats are rather manipulated, as it clearly does not split Xbox Live Silver and Gold. You need to pay to play online, and only 56% of users actually are prepared to pay for something that should be free.

As you also liked to imply, as we speak: It's more people playing say Modern Warfare 2 on xbox live vs PS3. It's more people online on xbox 360 vs PS3. I wonder why?

Keep in mind... even though Sony has made over 50 million accounts... how many of those are in use? The article says that they have created over 50 million since launch date. With the ones I've owned, I created 4 different ones. What's important is ACTIVE use today.
