I still have one of kelso's stock modded roms on the phone right now (with the ICS theme installed). I did the guide (very easy) and do notice a decent difference. Mind you, inside my house my signal percentage is very low. Main floor 0-20%, upstairs 10-45% max. I haven't been in a solid signal zone to see any previous tests compared to now.
My normal (previous) speed test (app) were around 30-80 kbps, very rare to see 100 kbps but have seen it a couple times.
Now showing anywhere between 280 (stable) but goes as high as 400 kbps so far. Upload speeds are about 150-180 id say.
I didn't have the "ics theme with "governor" removed" when I did the QPST guide, I installed after to see if any difference and seems to be steadily the same. But did notice (once before as well) that after install of the ics theme flash, Titanium Backup would force close even after uninstall and cache clean.
Found that clearing data, uninstalling the app, clearing cache and deleting any titanium backup files (if any) from the sd card/data should allow u to reinstall an apk u have or from market and no force closes.
But overall I feel this worked to a certain extent and it wont hurt to try. Just change the setting back if no difference and u think it was better before the procedure.
I will try this on some of the other cm7 roms and use *228 to change phones (like I do frequently).
I have 3 optimus M's and one stuck in safe mode (search and menu buttons are switched around) on the main board of the phone still the search and menu buttons are backwards. After startup, wont boot til I press one or the other. Read that search as startup enters safe mode? Haven't tried. With the case off loosely it sometimes boots normal. I was able to root while case was off but in safe mode nothing installs or works really. Weird.
