Root 3g incredibly slow.

I doubt its backside causing this, but has anyone else experienced worse then dial up speeds lately? its driving me insane! Just loading simple text in webpages takes forever! Or, sometimes It will be working just fine for a second and then stop working randomly. It always seems to happen when I am doing something important. haha.
btw, I am living in Lancaster, PA

Anyway, My 3g used to work just fine, but now its horribly slow. I ran speed test app and it says error network issues. Its so slow even speed test won't work....

Any ideas?

I have tried the following:
Restarting the phone, airplane mode, turning 3g off for awhile and then back on.

I never had this problem before. Another thing that stinks is I cannot call virgin mobile about it cause whatever key they tell me to hit or anything will not work.

Before I rooted and installed a custom rom or did anything like that, I did sometimes have to call virgin mobile because they had a 3g outage for like a hour sometimes. It was very rare though. On the coverage map I am green for data and calls. Like I said as well, I have never had this slow of speeds or this bad of 3g problems.

I even checked to make sure I wasn't using much data (so I am not being throttled)
I checked it on virgin mobiles website. This is what there site says for me:
Data Allotment: Unlimited MB
MB Used: 291.0 MB
Data speeds may be reduced at 2560.0 MB

Any Ideas?

You might be getting throttle if you exceed 2.5 gigabytes limit.

I called virgin mobile and apparently, (don't know if they will actually do anything) But they said they had multiple people report the issue in my area and there going to "escalate" the issue and try to find out of somethings up with the tower. I doubt they will actually do anything....but I can hope.

VM is currently updating their towers all over the country. They may be working on some towers in your area. I saw a thread somewhere with a link to sprints site to check on tower upgrades. You can try a Google search to see if they are currently working in your area.

I to have been experiencing very slow3g speeds,never had a problem before. Mine started about 2 weeks ago. Also problems with gmail and youtube,I'm in the Pittsburgh area,I was told they were working on cell towers. Hope they fix soon it's pretty annoying! !!

Thanks for the cell tower link. Apparently sprint is upgrading voice, data, and data connection on 4 towers around me in the next 6 months. Yay! data connection apparently means that more people can be on the 3g at once without it majorly slowing down. So i should get improved voice as well as 3g speed as well as not being kicked off. I hope this happens soon. The highest I ever got on speed tests with 3g was 1.30mbps down and 70mbps up.

Almost all the time though I get 20mbps down and .05mpbs up lol.
