3G on Samsung Admire Here is the 3022.prl

get this i still have 1x but i have 3G speeds lol
from: -65 dBm 65 asu (when i had prl 3019)
To: -101 dBm 101 asu (prl 3022)
isnt that crazy so ppl dont worry about it saying 1x or 3G its still 3G speeds but i also heard about something like the HDR or something making it work which idk what that means -.-

Works Great. Only Things is that you dont get Internet ... Voice & Text Work Great ... Will stick to PRL 3022 with 3g here in Miami.
 
1. Installed QPST.

2. From the start menu I found the QPST folder and started QPST Configuration

3. Had my Admire connected and opened Device Manager and expanded the Ports icon. I took note of the COM number listed beside the DBAdapter Reserved Interface,which in my case was (COM15)

4. In QPST Configuration I clicked Add New Port at the bottom right and selected the COM15 and enabled it.

5. After that I went back to the start menu,QPST and opened Service Programming. A box popped up asking for a phone and since I only had the one I just clicked OK and a new box with alot of tabs opened.

6. If you go to the Roam tab at the bottom there is a Preferred Roaming area with an area asking for a file. Browse for the PRL and when finished click the Write to Phone button at the bottom of the window. It will ask for your SPC. After that it writes to the phone and the phone reboots on its own. You should let it reboot fully and not unplug it from the computer or mess with QPST while it's doing so.

When the phone is done booting you can close the program and unhook the phone. It took about 10 minutes for data to start working but 3G works fine on it when I'm in a 3G area. My Ascend is using the bloatware free stock 2.2 ROM found on here and I've had no problems for the week with it. Hopefully this can be helpful for someone and sorry if it's not made out too well,pretty bad at explaining things :P

hey i have the same phone, cant you give me a guide on how to do this cus i did it and i dont have any internet now not even 1X it all disappeared. Thanks man
 
a couple of people have said a little bit afterwards the internet started working again but if you have already done that then you CAN revert to an older PRL by QPST again or by OTA and then try the 1 PRL lower. 3020, 3022, AND 3023 all appear to support 3G so any of them should work to what we are all trying to accomplish except idk which ones, if all 3 don't, support out exact needs for this device.
 
I live in Dallas and i got the PRL to update to 3020. Im using a samsung fascinate flashed to metro pcs EB01, kernel 2.6.32.9, firmware is 2.2.1 froyo.

i got the 1x back but its not going to 3G. Any Advice?

Also i dont know if it matters but i do have a APN for metro pcs i put together from another site enabled that allowed me mms, and data.
 
I live in Detroit, MI with 1x and prl 03019. I am going to Florida, should I update prl to 3022? or will I automatically have 3g when I get there. What would happen to service in Detroit with updated prl??
 
I'm in Dallas, too. I've tried 3020, 3022, and 3023.

With 3022 I have 1x.

3020 and 3023 give me 3G, but the icon and bars are white, and while it shows that I apparently have signal, I don't really have internet.

Does anybody get what the white/green differentiation is about?
 
also along with the prl's your phone have to be hitting off of metro 3g towers, and if they havnt updated their towers in your city, than 3g will not work.
