3VO Zagg Screen Protector

Alright, when I picked up my Evo 3D I purchased screen protectors from sprint because I was scared to go home without something on the screen... If I didn't make it home without getting a scratch on the screen, i would probably punch someone...

The screen protectors I purchased from sprint are crap, it doesn't cover the full screen, and doesn't even cover the buttons... So I decided to spend the 20 bucks on a Zagg screen protector...

So I opened the box, and inside was a spray bottle, squeegee and a cloth. I felt the screen protector and it's not a cheap screen protector that's for sure, it's almost more of a slice of silicon. It covers the entire screen and buttons, and the application instructions are the real deal... it was like applying tint to a window.. and it works amazingly... I now don't worry about having my keys in the same pocket as my phone...

i suggest it to anyone who loves their cell phone, spend the 20 bucks. well worth it.

I bought one, despised it, it has the "orange peel" effect that makes it look bad and hard to slide your finger across (made using swype near impossible)

Took it off after a week of trying to get used to it, wasted 20 dollars

I bought mine from best buy so i'm just paying the 10 dollars/month for insurance and leaving it without a protector, if it gets scratched I'll just throw it in the toilet or something and get a new one

In short, make sure you TRY IT OUT before you buy it, some people love it, others hate it

way too inconvenient for my tastes, but to each his own

I hated mine. Took it back to RS and they gave me a refund even after it was installed. Plus it didnt quite cover the whole screen. Once it dried some it shrunk and had a small gap all around the screen. Too rubbery feeling for me. Got the Otterbox Defender case instead.

I've had my Invisishield for a week - no orange peel effect or issues described here - if that's the non-smudge one or whatever discussed in the link I'd posted, no one seems to like that. After only a week, I'm happy.

Who sells phantomz?

I always get the Zagg InvisiShield on my phones. I absolutely love them. I got the regular one for my Evo3D and it's great. I avoided the Smudge-Proof one as I've heard bad things about it. In the past I have tried other brands but always come back to Zagg.

I had the store put on my last Zagg on my old phone lasted 18 months before needing to be replaced. It's a great product, in my opinion. Also, the life-time free replacement guarantee is great too. =)

I'm probably going to pick up a HTC Puccini this Summer/Fall and I plan on getting the InvisiShield for it as well. It's nice to know you don't have to worry about your friends scratching up your screen.

Peace of mind is priceless and I've never noticed the "orange peel" effect people have mentioned. When properly applied the Zagg should be completely smooth. If not, I'd recommend getting it replaced. After-all, it's free to get a replacement =)

I've never had the orange peel effect either. I've had it on Three different Droids, a Samsung Alias, and no problems in the last few years. Does a great job at protecting my screen. Also, buy your Invisishield off of Amazon for cheaper.

I exchanged my anti glare zagg screen protector for the regular zagg invisible shield, what a huge difference, looks great, just have to worry bout those smudges, but at least now the screen is not grainy

^This. I work at Best Buy and while I don't endorse all things they sell, I must say that the Invisishield by Zagg is a great screen protector for your money. I put them on at least 4-5 times a day and can say that with proper application, the orange peel effect is minimized. If your not feeling confident in installing it, there are a bunch of videos on YouTube and the actual webiste that demonstrate the proper way to install them.

I was never a fan of Zagg InvisibleShield... I always found it to be too sticky and had too much orange peel. I'm more of a fan of static cling screen protectors... look and feel just like the original glass so you can't even tell they're there.

I like the way the staric feel but can never get all bubbles out around edges and there is always 1 grain of dirt too

Screen protectors are all personal preference, but I'll chime in with mine. I've been using SGP Anti-Glare over the past 3-4 years for 2 iPhones, the Evo, now the EVO 3D. SGP and Power Support are the 2 best I've come across and you can find reviews for them all over google. I had a spare SGP one from the Evo last year, so I just trimmed it and it fits fine and I got it on pretty well.

SGP is in the process of making their Crystal Clear and AG (aka Ultra Fine). They told me it should be out by end of this week in last weeks email. However, this is the first time I might be switching to a non anti-glare one. I didn't use the 3D function intensively enough without a screen protector to fully compare what it is like having an anti-glare on top, but I think it affects it. It still works, but I'd ballpark around 30% less effective. The text and everything else is about the same as I would expect from using an AG.

Of course, your eyes will adjust the more you use one. Mine has pretty much adapted but I still know there is a difference. Therefore I will end up switching back to the crystal clear and deal with the fingerprints.

edit: Power Support only develops for Apple products I believe. I'm currently using their AG for my iPad2. The main difference between PS and SGP is that PS version of the anti-glare uses less coating (so it's thinner). I prefer that since it's still good for blocking fingerprints over a period of time using it and the clarity is a tad bit better because of it.

I hate zagg. I tried it once again with this phone, but it collects dust, and is too temperamental. For those who love it, more power to ya. I will stick with the generic, clear, non sticky, easily cleanable, and cheaper screen protecter.

I normally go with BSE...but they are arent available for the 3d yet....the zagg will hold me over...OP the zagg protector is on sale at radioshack for $14.99 go get your 6 bucks back from BB

How are the RS folks as far as installation goes? I know it isn't rocket surgery, and but there is a certain degree of skill involved to apply ANY screen protector.

I bought a zagg at bb waiting for phone to be delivered and returned it a day later when I saw that radio shack was selling it for 5 bucks cheaper. After that I was a bit miffed.

I did some research and found out that zaggs have a problem with fading yellow over time and the feel was too plasticky. I ran across another screen protector thread here and people were giving positive reviews of phantomskinz, so I check out their website.

Here's what you get:

I've had it on for a few days and I'm very impressed. It has the same "military grade" secret formula marketing bs as zagg-complete with demo videos. But it works! It also has self-healing technology. I put in two noticeable scratches by being too aggressive and ocd with the application card during installation, but they went away overnight.

The skin itself is crystal clear and I love having the peace of mind of having some protection on the dual cameras. Note: the camera skin has two cutouts for the cameras so they don't have to shoot thru it and the skin covers the flash. The feel is pretty damn good. It's not silky smooth as glass, but your fingers don't stick to the screen and there is very little resistence. Pinch and zoom/swipe motions work effortlessly. Fingerprints are minimal and wiped off easily. I wont say it's smudge-proof, but it's not a fingerprint magnet like the naked glass. I had to inspect the screen just now to see if it was littered with prints--it wasn't.

No air bubbles and the screen looks perfect when lit up. It also cuts down on the glare a bit and I see myself less in the screen. With the screen off you would be hard pressed to see that there is a protector on it.

I highly recommend installing in a dust-free environment. I borked the first screen by trying to get it perfect and some lint transferred from the microfiber cloth to the sticky side of the screen. Good thing they give you two. I would have been pissed otherwise. For the love god, watch some installation videos first and make sure everything is clean and dust-free.

All in all, you get 2x screens WITH camera protection shipped to your door for half the price of zagg. No fading or orange peel effect, with the same protection.

I joined this forum just for this post. Best 7 bucks and change I ever spent.

Hope this is helpful.

P.S. Eff best buy and their price gouging.

I ordered a Phantomskinz to try it out. I like that it covers the camera. One of the main things that I like about screen protectors is that it cuts down on fingerprints.

If I don't like it, I'll just order a Ghost Armor, which I was more than satisfied with on my Evo.

I put the Phantomskinz on on Thursday and got a perfect application. The screen looked great, however yesterday I had it in my pocket and something happened to it. It was the only thing in my pocket too. On one corner, roughly one inch by one inch section it got all rippled looking. It didn't peel off, but looks horrible. I have no idea of how that happened. It's ruined. Luckily, they gave me two, so looks like I will put the other one on, but I'm not sure how long it will last. I'm pretty disappointed.

After having the screen protector on for almost a week now, I still love it just as I did the first day. I feel as if my screen is actually protected from scratches.

However, after you mentioned the Orange Peel effect, you're right.. It does have an Orange Peel surface, but very minimal. You can see the Orange Peel texture in a glare, but other then that it's minimal.

The fingers touch to the screen protector is sort of sticky, and it does sort of slow your finger down with swipe. Once you actually start sliding your finger on the screen it's fine, but starting and stopping takes more effort then a normal screen protector.

With your points being noticed & agree'd upon... I still think the grade of protection is worth the minor set backs of Orange Peel & Stickiness.

But you're right, that's my opinion--to each is their own.

I have had the Zagg Invisible shield on many of my past phones. They have always been great! I got one for my EVO 3D and it is Great! I have never had any problems with their products and the customer service is really good. I have had to return a couple after a few years. They send you the new one and you send them back the old one. Great Product! Great Company!
