Root 4.3 BeanStalk

I don't have wifi sleeping on Sense and don't have that problem. Weird.

Gsam Battery Monitor ftw to see what's causing it.

I keep NFC off, added the switch to quick settings here and ran for hours screen on only losing 32%.
 
NFC off, I never choose to sleep my WiFi on sense either, never had battery drain like this.

That's the only think that was consistently on all night.

Going to keep playing around with this. Restoring my Gsam battery monitor backup now.
 
Had much better results since yesterday. Didn't change anything major. Maybe it just needed to settle in.

The stock camera has to go, its starting to drive me crazy. Tried the Focal camera app that's baked in, I'm not very fond of that one either.

Did you ever figure out how to get the MeanBean camera working on this EM?

Overall this ROM is starting to grow on me. :)

If this is an aosp based rom and not sense based, meanbean cam wont work. I'll look into it tho since im still waiting on final for pacman.
 
I'm not going to try. Pretty sure it has major dependencies in framework and services. Have considered asking Mike if he'd be interested in porting it for AOSP - but I'm not sure he'd be interested. He gives a lot already.

Hence my comment about wanting to try Camera JB+. Nowhere near Mike's camera but at least you can reduce jpeg compression.

And "MikeXDA's camera" is credited in his thread, I'm on mobile so I'll have to give further credit later. Or visit his thread.

PS - want the camera, want the Gallery for the filters. Deep, the rabbit hole is.

I tried and it failed like i thought. If you could ask tho that would be awesome. Only time will tell when focal will work and the modded jb cam is sick with all the setting abilities. More settings would be sweet tho. :-)

Wait....mike's camera? Can u provide a link so I can check it out?

I extract it from his rom (along with the media profile file) and use it with Viper (I've let him know). That works directly with the ICS stuff, not JellyBean.

I ought to have saved you the steps, sorry, I did the same here.

It started out as an international One X mod. MikeXDA, a digital photography genius, took that and ran with it.
 
Poop, I like his camera too. :(

I'll give that JB+ camera a run and see if I like it.

If I find something else, I'll let yinz know. :)
 
Im guessing cam will only work with ics..well thats now outta the question for me. However, I seen that mikeyxda did something for 3.09 meanbean and his ics (meanrom) had same camera discription as his 3.09 meanbean for jb. Dont know if they are the same and i cant test because of firmware and stuff.

I checked at one point, but don't recall. Safest to assume that the two are different, even if functionally the same.
 
Just flashed this and my 2 favorite settings already are fully disable PIE and HALO lol. I like when you use a picture from your gallery as backround you can set it as a portrait instead of having to crop it. I do have some questions though.

What is:

the 3G speed hack do exactly, I mean it says uncap the speed buuuut I'm dumb :p (preset is off)

GPU Acceleration (preset on)

PM Sleep mode, power collapse suspend was preset but what's power collapse (best)

What are mock locations and mock sms

2 more things. First I made a couple of calls today (3-4) and when I hung up the screen brightness was all the way down. I use the 'slide the top of the screen' option so I don't know if that is what's causing it.

Second, and this is an important one for me, I can't send picture messages (MMS). I switched from SlimRom (which I also liked) because of this problem. Has anyone else noticed this issue? Between SlimRom and Bean Stalk I used UR Rom which is Sense based and had no issues with MMS. I tried to use Go SMS Pro but I can't figure the damn thing out. It wouldn't load my contacts or send messages.

Have you tried "Handcent SMS"?
 
hmmmmm weird no issues here with go sms, do you have the pro version?

this rom is flying for me now.....no issues......most likely will be my daily for a bit........though i might need to try the pacman's daily at some point in time.
 
I liked this rom, but the camera was a killer for me. I take 30+ photos a day for work, and it drove me nuts. :(

I really like the rom otherwise. Nova Launcher tweaks, with a pile O crap running and the thing was grease lightnin.

I'll flash back and try that camera App EM. I looked and tried about 7 or 8 different camera apps, and I just couldn't get used to any of them.
 
It's basically the same camera, just everything working.

I don't understand how people are liking the UI. I find it obtuse.

I still have to give Camera JB+ a go with this one.

Edit - gah. I just realized that the UI difference between the 4.3 camera and Camera JB+ is a semicircle vs a circle.
 
The camera from the One port Rom isn't bad. Continuous shoot works sporadically, if at all,but takes good photos. It's be nice to see that camera on this Rom.

Let me know if that works. :)
 
That's the 4.2.2 camera - hoping to have time to see about the 4.3 version.

I'm afraid I'll still be stuck with HTC compression though.

Grrrrrrr.
 
If anything, I'll try this on my One port nandroid. See if it's the same camera.

I dislike the compression too. Always look grainy, borks the images.
