Are you happy with your phone still?

Naturally, this only really applies to people who have had the phone a while.

Me, i'm very happy, get 2 days easy with my battery, still IMO, best phone on the market, even with the Nexus S out against it :).

How about everyone else?..Legit owners please..not crazy fan boys!.
 
I've owned mine since November the 23rd and am still over the moon with it.
I can quite easily see me looking after this for my whole 24 month contract :)
Easily one of the best phones on the market right now and I think it will still be for a few months yet ;)
 
Have had mine for one and a half month, and it is really astonishing. I haven't owned any other smartphones, but I've tried some out, and this is no doubt the best of them :)
Maybe I should've waited until the SGS II, but this is brilliant.
 
Had mine since November 12th I think, Still as happy with it as I was when I first got it, Great battery life, Great apps, Amazing phone.
 
Had mine for at least 4 months now.

I do like the phone, but had a load of trouble with it first off. Proximity sensor and MMS message issues. However all fixed now thanks to the good folks at Android forums.

Don't like the camera, but it comes to something when you moan about the quality of the camera on your phone. It is after all a phone!!
 
Had mine aince release, and am still very much on honeymoon period.

When i had my Desire over time i looked at it and was less appealing every day, I'be had my dhd longer and I still look at it and get goosebumps (exageration)
 
I have had mine since november.. this is my first Android and TBH i feel this is the best phone i have ever had...

there are some minor niggles here and there.. but nothing really to complain about...
 
I think this will probably end up being one of those memorable phones. Ok, so I've had some minor inconvenience from the v2.2.1 firmware and there are a few design issues, such as the volume control that can't be found by touch alone, but it's the best phone - for me - that I've ever had.

Mind you, I still have my first mobile, an Ericsson SH 888, which had that same "just right" feel... a magnesium alloy body, a stubby sticky-out aerial, dual-band (which was a major "feature"), calls-and-text-only, 3 line 12 character display... I could go on! The point is, I suppose, that it exuded quality in the same way that the Desire HD does. On the other hand, maybe I'm just drawn to phones that are heavy, feel solid and are well-engineered!
 
Very happy except for the fact that I installed 2.2.1 so I'm now loathe to put my 32GB card in it in case it dies .... The 8GB original still going fine though ...

Battery got a bit better with the lasted update from HTC, but still i cant seem to turn off things that drain my battery like media server.
I love the phone but the battery is a big issue for me

Its big and ugly with plastic bits on back, tinny speaker, crap battery, no AMOLED screen, no multicoloured LED like Desire, contrast ratio and pixel density sucks compared to old desire, HD video recording is crap compared to i4/Galaxy S etc

Galaxy S2 is going to own all HTC phones this year with its dual core and quad core gpu. Nexus S is better because basically its a crappy Galaxy S but a still better than the DHD because it has SAMOLED, NFC, the Galaxy S GPU which is best on any phone, 1500mah battery and Gingerbread.
 
Coming from iPhone 3gs, I've had mine for just over 3 months. I LOVE everything about this phone.

Battery is great, screen is great, Android is AWESOME.

Still tweaking the phone, but it's set up nicely now and runs very responsively.

I had to type a message on my work colleagues iPhone 4 today and it just felt so far behind my DHD in every respect.

Very happy with this phone.

Ps. The Otterbox cases for these phones are amazing. The phone feels very rugged with it.
 
haha anyone who takes a Gal S or a i4 over this is a sucker... no need to elaborate about the i4 but as for the Gal S (canadian version) doesnt even have a flash!?!? Their camera's are 5mp this one is 8. This phone beats both those phones hands down. Telus in Canada just got this phone so I have not seen any of the previous problems but so far nothing has stopped this phone. It's snappy and looks awesome with a crazy battery life for the size of screen. When dual core processors are more prevalent in todays market sure maybe I'll upgrade the only difference you will see will be in 1080p video quality but do you really need that much? 720p is enough for me when the screen is as small as it is... but not too big you cant fit it in you pocket. This tops my previous Milestone in a big way.
 
I bought a nearly new i4 after my desire got damaged beyond repair but thought it was a downgrade and went for the Desire HD when it came out and after advice on here to set it up I'm blown away,for me its like a mini tablet,Android is awesome and HTC are too,nothing is perfect but I'd say the HTC HD is as near to the mark as there is out there
 
I still think it's a cracking phone, but the fact that htcsense.com doesn't work for me (I've recreated my sense account several times) and the 1.72.405.3 update has completely screwed SMS's for me is a bit of a let down. I do like it a lot, hopefully I'll go back to loving it when HTC sort these things out.

1. It's big.
That's the point, and I don't think it's too big.

2.It's ugly.
I think it's gorgeous.

3. Plastic bits on the back.
The Galaxy S is all plastic, so I can't see the problem.

4. Tinny speaker.
Have to agree with you there, but I guess they'll fix this when they push out the upgrade to Gingerbread.

5. Crap battery.
I don't think so. I can easily get a day out of mine, and that's with quite heavy usage.

6. No multicoloured LED.
Not a big issue, is it? This is a sign that you don't really have much to pick on this phone.

7. Contrast ratio and pixel density not as good as on the Desire.
That might also be true, be it is absolutely good enough, I think that the screen is very good.

8. Bad HD video recording
I guess you haven't tried fiddling with any of the settings, because I think it's adequate.

You say that the Galaxy S2 is going to be better than any HTC phone this year, and it's obvious that you don't know that since you don't know what phones HTC are pushing out this year.
The Galaxy S has a dedicated GPU, but the DHD does actually do graphics better, as proved in many tests. Not an issue that there isn't an NFC chip in the DHD since there is no use for NFC yet. I agree that the Galaxy S2 is better, but it is going to be released about half a year after the DHD, so there isn't any point in comparing them.

I love my DHD, and the only two problems I have is the badly located volume rocker and the speaker that isn't loud enough. Except for that, it is brilliant.
 
I'll try to give a balanced view between i4 and the HTC Desire HD, both of which I own and use on a daily basis.

If I were an outsider with little knowledge, I would see the relentless Android software advancement, coupled with god knows how many new hardware models launching almost daily from various manufacturers as very daunting. I really do think it could or has potentially harmed the growth of the platform.

As Joe Bloggs.. the i4 looks and feels, dare i say it, easy.. 2 hardware levels, one app store etc.

Here are my views on the key elements of the phones..

UI:
I call the i4 UI a get what you see interface.. by this I mean it's very simple to operate but should you really want to mess around, there isn't much you can do. On the DHD it seems I could play all day with various settings.. great if thats your cup of tea.. but not so great if you just want to pick up the phone, do the business and put it back down again..

Both I feel offer plus points in their own field..

SCREENS:
I love the size of the DHD screen but I wish it had the definition and depth of the i4.. but I think that will come within a generation or two

APPS:
umm.. difficult one this.. Again, I do love the simplistic way the Apple store presents the whole, pick and pay profile. It's clean, safe and simple.
The Android store is good but I really do find myself second guessing if the apps are safe to load.. With the OS being open source.. (trust me I know a lot about open source) I do question the stability and compatibility of the apps.

BATTERY:
Both seem pretty good to me. I easily get a day from the i4, likewise the same with the DHD

PHONE CALL QUALITY:
This is easy.. The DHD beats the i4 into a cocked hat.. the i4 has always had issues with sensors.. every time bar none, I get calls either stuck on hold, cut off or muted because the sensor doesn't realise i'm holding the phone to my ear.. it's terrible.......
Speech and hearing quality seems better on the DHD to me also.

MUSIC / MEDIA
First, music.. I'm probably my own worst enemy here.. I do use itunes.. (i know.. i'm a numpty) but it's something I just started to use and have grown with it.. The i4 interface with itunes is fluid. I've yet to find a good way to get my music into the DHD..
Video.. I find the movies I have sent to the DHD don't play smoothly, there is a lot of stutter on the movies. I'm trying different players.. yet to find one I like.. (using high speed 16gb SD card).
The i4 also suffers from the Apple lockdown on codecs.. but this isn't such an issue now as VLC player is available and is very good.

QUALITY OF BUILD.
I think both are well made and good looking phones. In terms of style, my personal preference goes to the i4.

EMAIL.
This is quite important to me as I get a lot of emails everyday and both of these phones need to be easy to use in terms of text entry.
It may be a little unfair to judge the text entry at this point as I've been using the i4 for much longer... however, I will make the observation that the accuracy of finger placement on the i4 seems better than the DHD

I have to say that it's a difficult decision to decide scores for these two phones, but, out of 10 (10 being best) I would rate them over all as:

iphone 4 = 8 out of 10.. Fantastic quality screen, safe shopping environment, good looking. BUT.. locked down software, expensive and very poor with phone calls.

HTC Desire HD = 7 out of 10.. Good size screen although not enough definition for me, good choice of apps, nice sturdy design, BUT.. open source security issues could scare some people. The endless Android updates and new hardware launches could put some people off.
 
I have to say mixed.

Positive:
  • Good build quality - hardware buttons are a bit fiddly
  • Sense ui and widgets do add value to the base android experience.
  • Android Froyo easily beats Symbian S60v3 in every respect (my previous phone was a Nokia 5800)
  • The general feature list, functionality and usability of the device all superb
Negative:
  • 3g/HSDPA is mostly unusable but I suspect this could be network related rather than device. This is the main problem which leaves me with mixed feelings.
  • The 2.2.1 official update was an utter disaster.
Neutral:
  • The battery although not great, I do get a day between charges and I'm able to charge every night so I find it workable. It could be better.
 
I've owned the phone for about 1 month now, i love it. It is a nice upgrade from my X10 which is pretty slow and choppy but this phone has no problem.
 
went from a G1 (2 years) to a SGS (4 months) to the DHD (4 months)!

and i have to say its an amazing phone!

the sgs does have a better screen and a better camera but the DHD over all if a far better phone.

battery life is more than a days work for me which is what im after. not sure about the critics but i live in a house with a plug socket or 2 so no problem there!
 
My only issue is battery life. On heavy use it needs more juice by tea time.

Superb phone though. I can take a pic/video and upload it anywhere on the web within seconds. I can play my tunes through my tv. Bank, shop and play games, as well as set it up the way I want it.

I would prefer the ability to video call. After all my Nokia of 5 yrs ago did this!

V. Happy, had phone since release date. Previously had Legend.
This actually 2nd phone as was sold 'unbranded' Vodafone version first which wad full of shit, so had it chnged .

Battery life no pros, use green power premium & have chargerat office & spare battery for travel.
