Help 4g wimax end date

My territory rep said that Sprint will be turning on some new/revamped towers in my area over the next month. And that some would be 4G wimax. So on my home from the gym I decided just to check to see if my 4G would work. And it did, I did a speed test and got 4 megs down and 1 meg up. I just hope its not only one tower. Still only 3G at my house though.

That's HTC underclocking the SoC for battery life, same as the Evo 3d, Qualcomm lists the chip at 1.5 Ghz stock. :p

I have the new one sv and It blows the s2 away even stock and is well worth the money for an s4 chipset and adreno 305 gpu best phone on the lineup as of now.

Had the phone sold it went back to s2 your crazy the only thing it has is lte thats it

I to had the 1 sv and am now back on an s2 with 4.2 and I'm a happy camper.
I'm on the s2 for the foreseeable future until boost gets the s3 perhaps or something better.

When I first got my S2 back in October I never got any 4G service so I only used the 3G and I was fine with that. Today I turned it on just to see what would happen, now it seems that I get 4G everywhere. I'm in Fort Lauderdale.

On the other side, the Evo V has disappeared from Virgin's website, until yesterday it was shown as back ordered, now it's completely gone.

Does anyone have any issues with their 4g data? I have the SGS2 4g but besides making a phone call nothings works on 4g. No 4g data whatsoever. I recently upgraded to jelly bean as it did not work on gingerbread, it still does not work on jellybean. when i look at my 4g settings it says

State:CONNECTED
IP ADDRESS: #.#.##
GATEWAY: ##.##.##.##
DNS1:##.##.##.###
DNS2: 0.0.0.0

wondering if the dns2 has anything to do with it. Please any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My brother still gets wimax but they just switched out nearby towers to LTE recently. as for me i cant use 4g on my Sll as my donor was a prevail. but unlimited 3g at 35.00 a month, aint so bad.

I wish they would get around to doing that. the Nextel phone I used to have would work where I live, Sprint doesn't:mad:

Be patient it takes a little time is all.
There are tons of towers out there.
They are forecasting it'll be done by the middle of next year.
They haven't truly been able to start de-comissioning them because the promised cut off date isn't until the 30th of this month.

After that it's on! ^_^

I've noticed more and more wimax towers in my area working. They just aren't turned to 100%.. They are running at about 25%. Weak signal maybe a 5-8 mile radius.

Most 4G signals are weak. It's more concentrated packets, therefore it needs more saturation to cover larger areas. You've got to have double if not triple the amount of towers/repeaters to cover the same area with 4G as you do with 3G.

Since Dish Network has backed out of buying Clear (I think), It leaves Sprint/Softbank the front bidder. Their WiMAX towers could be LTE converted and it would be a vast improvement. We shall see!
