5.10.605.9 Update

Either I'm not very observant, or the enable/disable encryption buttons (in manage apps) are new. They are greyed out for every app I've checked, though.

Yes, but what are they for?

Are they setting us up to be able natively lock the opening of apps using this, like in a coming update of the Android market or something?
Maybe the 3.4.4 update?

<yawn>
Time for my morning caffeine!
Med/dark Community coffee brewed strong with sugar, milk and lots of ice! ;)

Had to go to check new here. Reception has a minimal improvement, but the best part for me so far has been how much easier it is to uninstall things now. For some reason it also added like 5 new bookmarks to places like Bing I deleted.

The standard VZW bookmarks are included with every software update. Luckily, unlike all of their bloatware, they're easy to remove.

Anyone else notice how much more stable the signal strength bars are now? Not necessarily talking about more bars (though I've seen a marginal signal strength improvement), but now the bars don't go from 4 to 1 to 3 to 1, etc. The bars are actually useful now.

+1

No bar fluctuation
Easier uninstall

Maybe this update will result in fewer instances of the Dinc2 dropping system files. Things that were buggy seem stable now; satisfied.

Haven't noticed much of a difference in signal here. But for everyone's sake (at least those who aren't rooted) I hope it fixes the dropping apps problem.

Just finished my 34oz Tanzanian Peaberry coffee, black. Time to go get one from the Hospital gift shop. This one I'll have to doctor up a bit.

That Community Coffee was the best I had in NOLA BTW.

Got my update yesterday morning, and noticed after installing that my Juice Defender settings were cleared, I had to set up the program again. But it still had my wifi networks listed. Now my battery is only lasting one day, where before the update it was lasting 2. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Do you keep the icon in the notification bar (recommended)? I would confirm the JD settings are correct and reboot the phone once more. I find that rebooting usually sorts it out and when it doesn't a quick uninstall/reinstall. I've been using the latest betas and they've all been working well in the Inc 2, including after this recent OTA Verizon update.

Hi guys i just bought this di2 and the clock wig stopped working and i read about the update to fix it but the ota app. says service unavailable so i downloaded the files to the sd card manually and restart the cell into boot and ghosttown.

So if anyone can please help to either get the ota program to do its job or help me manually install the two files id really appreciate it!!!

IT says this(if it helps)
vivo_w xb ship s-on rl
hboot-0.98.0000
radio-1.09.01.0722
emmc-boot
jul 18 2011

Thanks for the reply
i actually dl a file that had it split in two? But i have found one thats complete at least the right filesize.
Anwways it said locked in red at the boot screen and ive managed to take that away along with downgrading to 2.3 didnt see that coming..
But at least now it scans the pg32img file twice.. so thats good but then does nothing? still wont auto update

Thanks . Your right I dl the radio file AND the ota file. But I do have the single complete one now. However in trying to get the "locked" title off my boot menu I reverted back to 2.3.3 so now I'm 2 updates back.. and trying to find that update to manually install cause my ota update still says error hope that cleared things up

Clock app works...finally...after a few months and a couple updates...

Not a huge deal but a nice thing to have. I like the 5 signal bars as well.

The 2.3.3 downgrade may block OTA updates. I don't know. You're half way to root so the easiest thing to do may be to continue on.

haha yeah.. i did actually root and flash cyanogen nightly 2.3.7 which was nice but i like sense too much.

Ive decided to hunt down all the updates and found 2.2,2.3.3, and the dec update, Unless theres already a sticky somewhere that has a list or ill make a new thread with links for anyone else thats getting a service error and cant ota.

I'm downloading the update now. Does anyone know if it fixes the issue where the dialer would stay on after making/receiving a phone call and draining the battery?

Anyone else still waiting?

I received a notification on the Friday after release, but it disappeared before I could initiate download. I have not seen the notification since. I have been checking "Check New" twice daily without any luck. Anyone else having this issue?

I have not gotten a notification and check new is grayed out...

just got the update. don't notice any significant difference. perhaps a slight boost in signal, but too soon to tell for sure.

I can vouch for this update fixing the alarm clock issue. My stock hTC alarm clock has gone off every single day since I loaded this update. Not that I don't snooze it many times or turn it off and don't get up on time. That's my fault.

hTC = happily tuned clock ;)
