sorry. couldnt find the recent thread about the 50%bug. it appears i have it. but what actually does it mean? mods, please append this to the thread i was following just yesterday. i maybe searching with the wrong text

It is a display bug, basically. It shows 50% time without signal, an absurdity.

Concerns about it baffle me.

A pretty summary in this good post:

You can see if you have it: Settings > About Phone > Battery > Battery Use > Cell Standby - if there's an item listed called Time without Signal - 50% then you're a winner!!

Usually, it's accompanied by the Up Time = Awake Time problem. And rapid battery drain.

To fix, put the phone in Airplane mode, put it to sleep for about a minute, wake it up, take it out of Airplane mode. This will need to be done every time you restart the phone.

That Time without Signal percent will slowly drop down.

Sometimes, this is only a visual bug and will not affect battery usage. Mostly, it's really a problem, though.
