I got my esteem stolen so i bought a new one i got it covered with that 5$ plan i lose it or get it stolen Howe much do i pay

yes they changed that sh@?*

Seriously?!! Glad I just sent mine to LG for repair instead of even messing with MetroPCS. All it cost me was $12 in shipping compared to this BS.

btw Not to be a grammar Nazi but the correct word is "deductible" :)

Did metro change it to where you can add insurance after the fact instead of immediately in the store when you buy the phone? I thought I heard that and wasn't sure if it was true.

You would have paid $10 if you had Metro mail it in for you. The OP is asking about the insurance plan for lost/stolen devices, you're referring to the warranty.

I have heard that too.

Well i bought it went home called 611 and put it on

You've always been able to add insurance during the return period.

You're confusing the insurance replacement deductible with the warranty replacement fee. Warranty replacement on the Esteem is $10 mail in or $30 out the door.

damn yes i was bro i feel dumb lmao

I'm.confused okay what is the one were you onky pay.10 or 30$ what has to be wrong with your phone

That is the warranty exchange. I.e. your phone stops working (physical damage is not covered) you can go to a corporate store and have it replaced on the spot for $30 (if they have any refurbs in stock) or pay $10 and they will mail it off and you get a replacement in 3-5 business days. With insurance you can get your phone replaced if it is lost/stolen/dropped in the toilet, but you will have to pay the deductible ($130).

Its okay thank you guys. & if I ever havevto return it has to be unrooted with all metro apps is there a way to get them back

I'll give you the steps I did before returning to LG:

1. Boot into recovery, perform a backup then restore the original backup created when you first rooted your phone.

2. Using Root Explorer go into /system/app and remove superuser.apk. If you don't, after you unroot Superuser will be stuck on the phone since it's a system app.

3. Unroot using the unrooter here: http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/436718-unrooter-download.html.

4. Do a factory reset through Settings which will wipe any installed apps and data and return the phone to OOB state.

5. After the reboot, cancel through the prompt to add your Google account details and ensure everything is as vanilla as possible. Don't be surprised if your phone actually smells like vanilla...honestly.

6. Declare victory and go get a refreshing icy beverage.
