.893 update NOW!

It's not beta. It is the proposed update to release to everyone. They are just starting with a smaller group of people in case they find something major wrong that they didn't find during internal testing.
 
I just updated my phone too. So far so good. Update went through without any issues. We'll see if this fixes any of the little issues i had with this thing :)
 
got the 5.5.893 update today. non-rooted, totally stock and i am a member of moto support forums. everything seems snappier, especially the camera. no problem with the update. did it over WiFi with no issues.
 
Confirmed - this OTA release is the same one we had so long ago.

Both files have the following hashes:

I received update but kept getting install failure. Guy at shop had me do factory reset. After re-initializing, my device still has .886 (i was hoping it would install .893) and now when i check for updates it says i'm up to date. Not true.
Do I just have to wait for it to get pushed again?

Hold on now... While that is a leaked version... it isn't the one being ( or about to be ) pushed out OTA....

Everyone that has recieved the update so far is reporting that it is the 5.5.893 version ... and the one leaked that is available has matching hashes to the update.

The Bionic reference post here http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-bionic/438060-bionic-reference-terms-links.html lists all of the known leaks and also should verify what I just mentioned. It also contains links to each of the leaked versions that have been seen to date.

I can't find the thread that I followed for installing it yet... I'll look a little bit more and then repost if I find it... before hitting the sack for the evening.

I thought it was important to post a correction to what SFWB posted just in case n813ca ( or anyone else ) was looking for the OTA release version.

Some of us have a leaked version of 5.7.893 etc. I'm hearing that the OTA update is the SAME? as this leaked version but bares the number 5.5.893? That makes no sense to me. Has anyone captured this OTA yet?

So here's my question do I bother looking for this update or can someone help me understand why it's the same but different? LOL

johngalt stated that the OTA update 5.5.893 is the same as the leaked update that came out a while back with the same # 5.5.893. there is also a leaked # 5.7.893. it has not been pushed out OTA.
 
No point in calling the first leaked update a leak anymore, since it is identical to what is officially released now.

5.5.893 is 5.5.893 - regardless of where you obtain it from. It's the same file.

If you go to 5.7.893 then you will not get updates for a while (b/c you'll be ahead of other stock users). That is still officially a leak.
 
Thanks for the clarification. It is kinda confusing. FWIW, I loaded the leaked 5.7.893 and was able to root it no problem. Everything works great so far.
 
I highly doubt it as I'm on 5.7.893 now and it is morst defintiely BIONIC.

For One thing, on the RAZR the ZumoCast app is named differently - yet on my phone it's still Zumocast.
 
my update hit on friday afternoon. 5.5.893.xt875.verizon.en.us
havent noticed much difference but then again Ive only had the phone for about 10 days. No issues with the update as far as I can tell...
 
Since I cannot remember from when I manually updated, does the 5.5.893 being pushed update the radio and kernel?
 
I finally got it. Had to go to settings and manually search for update. pretty stoked as I have been doing this every couple hours for the last day.
