its a script that you flash after a rom so more of the apps data is moved to the sd than what the original android system does. you dont need it but its good to have if you want to have many apps. It comes baked in to some roms so you dont have to worry about it .

but here's the link if you need it
A2SD scipt
just wipe cache and dalvik before flashing

what about dtapps? or is that the same thing?

there are 2 versions of a2sd one is CM and the other DT. Dark Tremors is the flashable zip. Before flashing you have to create a partition on the SDCARD. This partition will need to be EXT2,3, or 4. You should find out if a2sd is already cooked into the ROM you want to flash if so then there is no need to flash it. Also flashing DT over CM can cause issues. One of the two versions is usually flashed into most ROMS however to utilize this your card must be partitioned prior to the flash.

The advantage over the "move app to SD card" that the stick Rom has is that the a2sd moves the entire app and only leaves a symbolic link for the phone to find it. You can even move caches. You should easily have 300mb left of the internal memory if its working right.
