Hello
I finally caved in and rooted my V. I'm very happy.... Gingerbreak worked great. Now I'm thinking about ROMS. I've got two in mind Bumblebee and Harmonia. My question is.. if I do this will everything currently on my phone be gone afterwards?? such as contacts.. email setup for hotmail and the various other things that need to be setup ? TIA

Yes you will use all your data but if you do a backup with titanium you can restore all of your apps and such. As for your contacts sync with google and they should be saved.

Use Titanium Backup,it will backup everything on your phone to your sd card. Then when you install a custom recovery(Xionia_cwma_12518.4 virgin is the best for the optimus v),before you do anything else,go to the option "backup and restore",and make a backup. After installing a new ROM I ran into some troubles with downloading from the market and had to go back to recovery to do all the wipes again. While I was there I decide to see how good the restore was. I got every thing(I mean everything back just like before(everything!). Went to the market and downloaded an app just to make sure it wasn't a problem with the market. Then went back and wiped again, this time the market worked(after signing in to my google account). Downloaded Titanium Backup(wasn't included with the new ROM).Opened it up and restored everything I needed way faster than through the market.
