I'm going to wait till this weekend to see how smoothly the process goes for other Captivate users. I also want make sure that I backup as much of my stuff on my phone before I install the upgrade.

I kind of read in previous posts about the compatibility of windows 7 and kies mini. I'm running windows 7 on my laptop, will I be able to successfully upgrade my 2.1update1 to 2.2?

I can't imagine Uncle Steve is well enough to respond to anything...much less care

Did you hit the 'Have Problems?' button at the lower right? You need to install Busybox, hitting that button will install it for you, then you should be good to go.

Because Steviw wouldn't allow it. Imagine how long it took windows to put zune on their PC.

3 times I clicked that link and 3 times it took me to some phishing website claiming to be giving away $1000 gift cards to walmart...

Well then I'm screwed since Kies mini hasn't worked for me since its first update, or with this last update.

Kies just said upgrade available but when I started it, it said insufficient battery (I only had about 20% left). So I gotta charge it first.

To be fair some people stoop low enough to lie about it. Thanks for verifying My phone is still backing up, but when that's done it's froyo for me. Keep us updated please, and let us know if you run into any problems.

Firmware installed, saw a bunch of command line stuff go by, then it rebooted, and now I'm at the Galaxy S screen for the last couple minutes. I hope its doing something.....
