Newbie
Any status on getting a different ROM other than stock on the Esteem? Would flashing with a Revolution ROM work, or do we need an Esteem specific.

I've searched over at the xda-developers forums, and can't find anything Esteem specific, but a great deal of Revolution info.

We cant flash roms till we get a recovery. Well we could but i wouldnt take the chance.

And no we cant use the rev ROM, you wouldnt want to since the rev is using froyo and we have gingerbread

Actually, they have a GB ROM now. We really need to get a custom recovery on this phone.
 
Who if anyone is working on the recovery?
Are any rom developers interesting in the esteem? or would we just port from the revo?
I think we should make a bounty to encourage foreword movement, especially now that the revo has GB.

Im more interested in a overclock kernel then a ROM this ROM is fine for me
 
I'm doing some research on it. I've poking around with a hex editor to understand the innards. Gonna see if LG's released the source and see what I can find in there too. Anyone else find any other leads?
 
Pocketgod already developed an oc kernel now all that is need is a recovery to flash it (which he is also working on) :)
 
Any updates with playful god and the recovery, OC kernel or a ROM? I guess development is going slower than I anticipated. I thought since this phone is pretty much the Revolution it would be pretty straight forward lol....NOT!

custom would be nice but the stock rom is awesome itself, but being a dev if someone is willing they will send there phone or donate some spare change to get one if they are not metro customer to work on building a rom, but also on xda a couple of devswas suppose to be getting a phone from the donations they receive to bring us a good custom rom, but im not sure if it was started on or not havn't been back there in a week or so, but also PG should be getting one soon, and im doing test on install a recovery that will work to backup our stock rom but no luck here, but will keep looking tho. ;)

I had one sent to me that was replaced on warranty but it died and wont power on now. I have most of the ground work done for CWM for the Esteem done and should only need a few more tweaks to be working etc.
