Amazon App Store Thread - Daily Free Apps

I've uninstalled the Amazon AppStore on my devices awhile ago. I was tired of garbage apps and developers not updating them as they do on Google Play. It was especially frustrating with games I paid for.

Perhaps they are, but considering that these apps are being given away, i.e. they're free for a time, I find it rather difficult to complain much.

Enlighten us as to what you expect Amazon to give you for free, if you would.

SwiftKey is the best app I got from there

We actually got Documents to go a while back. Not sure how long ago.

It's been a year at least

Yea, I'm half tempted to buy from play store everything I use from amazon just to get rid of it

That is tempting for me too. Every so often I sent an email to a developer complaining that an app on amazon isn't updated long after the app on google play has been.

Even if the app was free for a day, I still consider that I "purchased" it and own it just as much as if someone paid for it. Plus, plenty of people did pay for the apps in the amazon store. Totally wrong to not update Amazon apps within a short time of updating the play store version.

i always assumed..

once i got it free on amazon... installed.
i could still update it on Playstore.

need to check that out.

I've tried and it says something like "You did not purchase this item." I believe it used to work though.

This is true, I believe with an older version of the Play Store it used to work, but as of late i believe that Google and Amazon aren't too friendly so they kind of gave that up.

You could try messaging the Developers of that specific app about it.

I gave up on Amazon app store a long time ago. Every once in a blue moon there's an app I'm kind of interested in. When that happens I just go to Amazon.com, search the app and 'buy' it so it's attached to the Amazon store. My theory is if there's ever something amazing that I can't live w/o I will cave in to installing the Amazon app store once again and all the decent apps will be waiting for me too. But that's been probably a year and they don't appear to be getting any better so I doubt that will ever happen.

Yeah, wish I'd bever started using it. I have about 110 "free" apps, that I use maybe 5 of them... and I'd have gladly paid for 3 or 4 of those. Got an Appstore update today (4.5.16.9C) on my 2.3.5 device and now the Appstore locks up. Back to an earlier version...

This is getting downright insulting. Today's app is an impossible questions game with a two star rating. One 5 star rating (which looks like it could have come from the developer) and ten 1 star ratings. Why bother offering it? It has a two star rating because nobody likes it!

It would be great if they didn't offer any free apps that are less then 3 1/2 stars. I like the idea of buying directly from Amazon.com.

Now that you mention it, after all those daily checks, I guess I never did use it, let alone install it. So I ask myself...

The only reason it's still polluting my phone's internal memory is because seekdroid needs it to function. After that app I've seen nothing of worth, maybe downloaded one or 2 just to use it once again. Now it's just taking up space, guzzling bandwidth and nagging me to be updated...

Think I'm with ya there. I'm gonna replace SeekDroid with Android Lost and I'll be free of the burden of Amazon forever.
Already rejoicing at the idea :)

I am finding, with the older apps from Amazon, that you have to be logged in to Amazon to use them and then they give you a page of ads before you can play your game. Has anyone else seen this?

Heh, first good app all year, right the day after I uninstalled the appstore. Luckily I already bought world of goo for $. 25 so no regrets.

It got like 37 5 star reviews and only two 1 star reviews. It doesn't look like one I would be interested in but if you like time management games, check it out.

12/27- I actually downloaded and like this one.
