Amazon App Store Thread - Daily Free Apps

Agreed - looked everywhere but couldn't find any update details.

Speaking of updates, has anyone else had problems updating Soundhound Infinity? This morning I checked to see if there were any updates to my Amazon apps; 2 were listed along with an update for SH. The first two updated without any trouble, but when I tried to update SH, the Amazon app crashes. Looking at my apps list, it lists an option to install SH even though I already have it installed and running. Guess the app was free but the updates aren't... ;) <jk>

I haven't done the SH update yet but what u wrote reminds me of a thread a app developer wrote about understanding apps for new users and what it all means really great thread. He said that what a lot of people don't understand is that when u allow an update to process its like getting a whole new version of the app. I always thought an update was to enhance the ver u already have on ur phone but the way he talked sometimes its like replaces the whole app with the new app. I can find the thread if anyone is interested.

Yeah if you pay attention to an app when it is update you download the entire app and it installs over the old one, the APK is signed and you can not just insert small parts of the code into a signed apk without extracting it first and then resigning it, it is easier to update by just installing the modified app on top of the old one.

Yeah. The point of free apps every day is to get people to frequent the Amazon App Market, and with your card on file you're more likely to buy other apps while you're there. No one's forcing you to get the free apps though.
 
Gentlemen, is there any way to recover my email address from within the Amazon appstore? I forgot the email address that I had entered while logging into the appstore. I'm logged into the app but when I enter settings screen it just shows my first name whereas I need my email address.
 
Today's free app is Flight Control by Namco Bandai Games, usually a $2.99 game. In it you are an air traffic controller in charge of the safety of various aircraft and working through different airports.

Ever since getting Angry Birds Rio free paid version at Amazon, I end up comparing all other games to the amazing graphics and crisp colors, they set the bar. Why can't all games have this same standard?

Flight Control has test drive before you buy and the test drive looks like low end graphics to me. Does the live version show better?

Well, the game is FREE today, so just download the full version to your phone and try it out for yourself; it's not like you have to keep it, and you won't be charged for it either. ;)

Go to Amazon.com and do the "Forgot password/login" thing. The account you use for the appstore is the same one for everything else Amazon does, so you should be able to find that stuff out from their website.
