Root Amon RA Recovery

Well-Known Member
I need help flashing Amon RA onto my EVO.
I already went to the XDA post about the v2.3 and the three ways to do it and none of them worked.
Rom Manager says it flashes it but it doesn't.
I did the bootloader way and it did the update but nothing happened.
Then the emulator said permission denied.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

are you naming the PC36IMG file correctly? no extra .zip? did you transfer it to the root of the sd card(no folders)? try re-downloading the file.

Hmm... Have you tried not using rom manager. It seems that a lot of people have trouble with it, and a lot more dislike it.

Basically, the Amon Ra file should be called exactly "PC36IMG.zip".
That means, depending on your OS, you may inadvertently name it PC36IMG.zip.zip if you are not careful.

Then you need to place this file on the root of your sd card. The root of the sd card is the 'highest' level of the card. So in windows, it would be the directory F:\ (assuming your sd card is given the letter 'F' ).

Then when you reboot into recovery (vol down plus power for several seconds after phone is off) it'll take care of it for you.

*sigh* I need to refresh the page before posting. Or stop reading wikipedia while on forums...

It is named correctly, and when I went into the bootloader and it updated like it should have. But still I have nothing.

It is on the root of the SD card and named correctly.
The bootloader will go through and update it but then when I go into the recovery it is still Clockwork.

I will give this a try.
Do I need to rename the file?
Currently the file name is "PC36IMG_RA_2.3"

Yes. Just take the _RA_2.3 off and leave the rest. Make sure it is on the root of the sdcard and let it flash. I just used this file last week and it worked fine for me.

Perfect! Thank you so much!
