I didn't have to Google it because I knew what you were talking about, I had to Google it because I wanted to see the results.

From my searching I've come up with.

Data Processing
Dynamic Positioning
The DP you were talking about

Edit: I think I found the correct answer. DP can also stand for display picture, I think the OP is wondering what would be an appropriate avatar.

So, to answer the OP's question, you can set up the avatar (display picture) in the User control Panel, and I believe the limitation is something around 80x80. My last one was 80x79.... :D
 
In which case, the appropriate DP would be something that is meaningless until google-goggled.

Yeah talking about a display picture.... sorry for calling it a DP... guess I'm stuck with Facebook terminology... my bad >_<
 
Oh and basically I wanted to know if it's acceptable to have a picture of yourself, or is that kinda not really done around here

Not many here use a pic of themselves as an avatar for whatever reason, but certainly some do. If that's what you want to use, I'd say go for it - you can always change it later if you change your mind.
